Weekly recap.

Recapping our week on the blog! Walks and more walks, swim team finals, yogurt pops, the sprinkler, firehouse, volleyball game, and more!

Monday July 10
Early morning walk with the little man, and we saw some deer running across the street. We stayed home the rest of the day, resting up for the swim finals that night. In recreation swimming, they have A and B finals. If you can take a guess, A finals is the faster swimmers than B finals. Hadley made the B finals, but she was super stoked she made any finals. It was a fun meet! We don’t know her final time yet, but I think she got first in backstroke again. Back is her stroke so far!

Tuesday July 11
Walk in the morning, and then eggs and toast for breakfast for Huxley. In the afternoon, we brought out the sprinkler and the kids cooled off. The grass gets watered, and the kids have fun at the same time. We could go to the pool every day, but some days it’s nice to just stay home. Going to the pool with little ones is a lot of work sometimes!

Wednesday July 12
Saw wild turkeys on our morning walk. We have super random wildlife out here in the ‘burbs! Watered the flowers like we tend to do about every other day or so. I met up with some moms from Hadley’s school for happy hour / dinner. We went to a place that is right on the river, it was so nice. I could live by any body of water almost. It’s very relaxing. Nice to catch up and hangout with just the girls.

Thursday July 13
Walked at the trail solo, I did the entire trail and sang my hype songs out loud to myself! It felt amazing. Came home, Huxley took his first nap, and we headed to the pool! It was not very crowded at all, and the water felt amazing. Hadley always runs into at least one friend when we are there, and she has the best time.

Friday July 14
Morning walk with Huxley, stopped at Kroger to get some things for the house. I tried these skinny-dipped cashews for an impromptu movie night with Hadley and they were good! Almost every afternoon, both Hadley and Huxley will have a yogurt pop. We strip Huxley down to his diaper because he takes forever to eat the yogurt pops, and it drips all over himself. So, eating them outside is the easiest way for him. Then the kids ran through the sprinkler, it’s been hot! Kevin was driving the engine, and he just loves it! For an impromptu movie night, meaning no signage / decor or themed snacks, we watched The Rookie of the Year, an oldie, but figured Hadley would love it because it’s about baseball.

Saturday July 15
Walked in the morning with Huxley. Hadley had a yogurt tube for breakfast and ended up squirting it on her face! It was so funny, she belly laughed out loud! Kevin was on overtime at a different house, so we went to visit him! They have five turtles they feed on a daily basis, and you can see the planes fly in and out, the kids loved it!

Sunday July 16
Walked in the morning, had a volleyball game in the afternoon that I went to with just the kids and I. Hadley basically watched Huxley for an hour, and she is just amazing at being a big sister. Huxley stayed in the wagon the entire time, she squirted him with her water gun, we brought his favorite yogurt pops that managed to stay frozen in a lunch box with lots of ice packs, and lots of snacks. We won two out of three games! After the volleyball game, we went to the pool for a little bit. Once I get to the pool it’s fine, it’s just lugging all the stuff there is what’s hard some days. After the pool, we went home to eat dinner and by this time Kevin was home from work. He and Huxley went to bed, and Hadley and I went out for ice cream as part of a huge thank you for how awesome she is at watching her little brother. Plus it was part of our summer bucket list!

Happy Tuesday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!

Weekly recap.

Recapping our week on the blog! The rest of our Fourth of July, walks, patriotic dessert, fireworks at home, the pool, and sleepover at the grandparents!

Monday July 3
Early morning walk on our last day at the lake! I was sweating my booty off walking up and down the hills of Kentucky! Took the kids tubing, it’s always fun to watch the big kids try and knock each other off. We try to do shaving cream for the kids on big summer holidays, they spray themselves down with the shaving cream, and then jump in the water and it all washes off. My brother-in-law had the idea to bring out the cornhole, it was fun! Haven’t played in years. We went down to my cousin’s dock to see baby Evelyn one last time, and I failed to get one photo of her! It was so great to see my cousin, she doesn’t come in town much since they moved, so when she is in town, I soak up the time I get with her!

Tuesday July 4
Back home to our regular routine! When Huxley wakes up in the morning, he hates his diaper changed first thing, he’d rather down his milk first and look out the window. Then we take our walk either around the neighborhood, the trail, or swim team practice. This morning was around the neighborhood. My sister-in-law and niece sent me pictures of the kids doing shaving cream on the dock, and all of their fourth of July gear I got them. During one of Huxley’s naps, Hadley and I made a patriotic dessert. She wanted me to text her cousin a picture of her wearing all the tattoos her cousin gave her. They were cute! After Huxley went to bed, we went outside to do some small fireworks and just hang out together. It was a pretty chill fourth this year! We came home because Kevin had to work.

Wednesday July 5
Morning walk around the neighborhood! My bonus daughter Natalie sent me a picture of her learning how to wakeboard at the lake! She looks great! Hadley was hanging out with her friend at her pool! While she was swimming, Huxley enjoyed his new favorite treat. Frozen yogurt popsicle! He gets so messy eating them; I usually end up stripping him down to his diaper and he eats it in the garage.

Thursday July 6
On our walk around the neighborhood, sometimes we come across all sorts of wildlife. We’ll see these wild turkeys from time to time, and I always think of trying to catch one and eating him for Thanksgiving one year! haha! This week during Hadley’s swim team practice, I’ve been driving back and forth to Once Upon a Child to sell some of Huxley’s clothes he’s growing out of, and Huxley fell asleep! He hasn’t done that since he was a teeny baby! My husband got overtime at the firehouse last minute, so my parents graciously took Hadley to her swim meet. The swim meets are over way too late for Huxley to be there, he goes to bed at 7:30pm! It’s glorious!

Friday July 7
Killing it with walking every morning! It’s so good for my mental health! We had plans to go back to the lake Thursday and Friday, but when Kevin got overtime, he needed to catch up on some sleep. So, we headed to the pool after Huxley’s nap and ate dinner there. The water finally feels amazing, not too cold, and not too warm, very refreshing!

Saturday July 8
Some days I feel super in shape, and other days I just feel gross. Today was one of those days I felt just gross. Oh well, we all have those days, right? I just keep going, because walking makes me feel really good afterwards! Hadley spent the day with her grandparents, and cousin. They went to a sign museum, and Dave and Busters! Huxley definitely missed his big sister, he could tell she wasn’t home but didn’t know how to communicate it, I guess. Another yogurt popsicle in the garage, that ended up with him being down to his diaper. Sams Club delivery is just the best. We facetimed Hadley right before bed, it was the cutest thing. Huxley was all smiles, and even blew his sister a kiss when we said good night.

Sunday July 9
Sunday funday! Sometimes I walk at this trail that I just love, and they are demolishing all the land and putting condos there! We saw a mama deer and her baby running all over the place, they are taking away the forest for these animals. It looks so weird walking along this trail that was nothing but nature, and now to see all this dirt and bulldozers. It’s so sad. While Huxley was taking his first nap, I was doing the dishes and didn’t hear the camera notification go off that Kroger was there. Kroger Boost is amazing. Highly recommend it, it’s 100% worth the yearly fee. Anyways, they have never put the groceries right in front of our garage door before, it was super nice! Hadley had a sleepover at her grandparents, and we were so glad when she came home! I missed her! When Huxley woke up from his second nap, you can tell he missed her too! He gave her a hug and was all smiles! We headed to the pool for a little bit, I love that it’s super close, and the kids just love it there. Kevin and I love it too. After the pool, we came home and ate a quick dinner, then bath and bed! We had a great week!

Happy Monday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!

Recapping our week on the blog! Soccer camp, haircuts, highlights, permanent bracelets, swim practice, and the lake!

Monday June 26
Early morning walk with Huxley during soccer camp, and after our walk we went down to the fields to watch Hadley play. Hadley was exhausted after camp, it was hot! Whenever I take a picture, Huxley has started to smile right away, it’s so darn cute! We crossed one thing off our summer bucket list by eating outside at Sonic. It wasn’t very easy with Huxley, but we made it happen.

Tuesday June 27
Walked again during soccer camp in the morning, we just walked around the school parking lot. After camp was over, I surprised Hadley by having her favorite Starbucks drink. Huxley got his haircut, and then I got my haircut and highlighted. Love hair day!

Wednesday June 28
Walked around our neighborhood before soccer camp this morning. While camp was going on, Huxley and I went to Kroger to get the things that were out of stock on my delivery order. The last day of camp they had shaved ice, she had a great camp! Huxley had his fourth haircut of his little life, but the first-time using trimmers. He cried a little, but just love how it turned out. I love the short fade on him! Kroger delivered our groceries for the weekend, and I started packing and organizing them in bins. My sister-in-law Bridgett and I went and got permanent bracelets put on, it was a gift for my birthday back in March. It was so fun, and I love the bracelets. We want to go back and get more!

Thursday June 29
Walked after we woke up, Hadley started watering the flowers before swim team practice. The way Hadley plays with Huxley is just the cutest thing, she is seriously the best big sister. During swim team practice, Huxley and I went to wash and vacuum my car. We made these yogurt popsicles out of these new molds we bought, and the kids just love them! They are super tiny, and easy for Huxley to hold. Hadley had a swim meet, and she placed first in backstroke in her age group! She was so excited.

Friday June 30
Hadley started watering the flowers for me while I was walking with Huxley. After Kevin slept a little, we packed up the car and headed to the lake for the holiday weekend! It took a day or so for Huxley to adjust, Hadley wanted to fish right away. She caught three! It feels so weird having our eighteen-year-old stay up late with us now to hangout, he’s such a good kid.

Saturday July 1
The day started off with some rain off and on, I got a quick walk in. After Huxley took a nap, we headed down to the dock. After dinner, took Hadley and Mattie to see the horses, not many were out. Huxley went to bed at his usual time, and then we hung outside just talking. My cousin Becca was in from out of town, and it was so good to see her and her sweet babe Evelyn!

Sunday July 2
Every kid loves the gator, they love playing around on the seats and just sitting in it. We take lots of gator rides, and while Kevin golfed in the morning, we took a ride and little Huxley fell asleep! I had to put my arm around his belly to stop him from falling over it was so cute. I guess the fresh air, and the sound of the gator was relaxing to him! Every fourth of July, they have a band play in our cove. Due to the crazy weather the day before, they moved the band to Sunday. All the boats hangout in our cove and listen to the music. It’s a fun time! The weather started to get bad again, so we packed up the kids and headed up to the house. It poured, lightening, and thundered. My cousin Will loves to come up with crazy outfits for the fourth, this year was total Dad mode. It was hilarious! It took Huxley awhile to fall asleep, so Kevin and I stayed at the house and watched a movie. When it was time for Hadley to go to bed, Kevin went down to lay with her and stayed in bed. I headed down to my cousins to hangout! When I got back to the lake house, Hadley was all curled up with her dad in bed, so I slept in her little bed. We had a great holiday weekend!

Happy Wednesday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!

Weekly recap.

Recapping our week on the blog! Shopping for the kids, lots more walks, first trip to the lake, swim team, and lots of pool time!

Monday June 19
Early morning walk with Huxley around the neighborhood, swim team practice for Hadley, and then just chilled the rest of the day.

Tuesday June 20
Walk in the morning around the neighborhood, swim team practice for Hadley. After Huxley’s nap, we headed back out and went to Kohls, Hadley and Huxley got a few new outfits for summer. After Kohl’s, we went to Cancun for dinner, and I was so proud of myself I did not have one ounce of white cheese! I’m trying to be good lately.

Wednesday June 21
We went to the lake for the first time this summer! It’s been a weird summer so far, not going to the lake at all until almost July but that’s how things worked out. We met one of Kevin’s high school buddies and his family for the day at the lake. Hadley went tubing, fishing, and just hanging out on the dock all day. Huxley took an amazing nap too! When we got home, Hadley had a sweet summer surprise from her aunt / Godmother Amy on the front porch, new charms for her crocs!

Thursday June 22
Walked during swim practice, and sometimes Huxley is about ready to get out after a mile but I try so hard to get two miles in and then get him out. We walked around the picnic table area towards the end of practice. We came home, ate some lunch, put Huxley down for his nap, Hadley chilled on the couch, and I took a webinar. It’s for families of firefighters, and for firefighters as well. It was a good webinar, went over the job they go through, and its effect on themselves and their families, and how to cope with things, etc. There were over 50 people on the call, from all over the U.S.! It was Kevins turn to go to Hadleys swim meet, I was able to see her swim the first event before Kevin got there and Huxley and I had to leave. She has so much fun swimming with her friends!

Friday June 23
Instead of swim team practice, they had a pancake breakfast! Hadley played games, and Huxley was in heaven with all the people under the shelter. After breakfast, they swam for fun for a little bit. It was another weird cold morning in June, we had sweatshirts on! Later in the afternoon, we delivered our softball goodie bags to all the players on the team this year. We were a little late this year, but you know, life is busy these days.

Saturday June 24
Huxley and I walked at the trail, which is my favorite place to walk. The whole thing is two miles, but he gets antsy after a mile, but I strap him in and keep going. Kevin had a special event to work for the fire department, it was a bike race. We went to the pool later in the afternoon, and it was still packed! Both kids love the pool, it’s just a lot of work bringing all the things for a toddler!

Sunday June 25
Hadley chose to go to the pool with just her and I for a few hours for her birthday date for June. We pretty much had the pool to ourselves for a while. The weather was calling for severe storms in the afternoon, so we headed up early. Kevin met us at the pool later for our volleyball game, Hadley was the best and watched Huxley for the entire hour. Lots of snacks. She was great with him! After volleyball, we swam for a little bit, it felt amazing I was so hot. And then the clouds started coming in, and everyone was leaving. We came home, ate dinner, and hit the sheets!

Happy Monday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!

Weekly recap.

Recapping our week on the blog! Lots of walks, swim practice, early Father’s Day, the library, went to two different parks, the zoo, and volleyball!

Monday June 12
With Kevin being home, I took a walk by myself around the neighborhood. Hadley’s swim practice was cancelled because it was too cold! So, her and Kevin practiced softball in the yard.

Tuesday June 13
I cannot get over how chilly it has been the last few days! I mean it’s almost July for crying out loud, we should be sweating on these morning walks not wearing a light jacket! During swim team practice, I dropped off a few bags of donated clothes and random things. I’ve been on a decluttering kick and it feels great to get stuff out of the house. After swim practice, we cleaned out my car, and just hung outside. For dinner, we met up with my parents and brothers’ family to celebrate Father’s Day a few days early.

Wednesday June 14
Wednesday was a busy fun day! During swim team practice, Huxley and I ventured around the pool grounds and explored a little. It was like off roading in the stroller, which wasn’t the best, but it was good for one day. After practice, we stopped by the library to drop off books from before school was out and checked out two more books for Hadley. After lunch and afternoon naps, we went to a local park. It was a little more crowded than I figured it would be, but did the kids have fun! Hadley loves to do the zipline, and Huxley was in heaven walking around. On the way home, Hadley convinced me for her to get McDonald’s for an early dinner and we bought a “Grimace Birthday Meal”. Take my advice, don’t get the meal. It was $13.00, and all it was was a purple milkshake with food and fries! Total rip-off and the shake wasn’t even that good, Hadley barely drank it.

Thursday June 15
Since Huxley turned one back in February, I’ve been meaning to measure him on this ruler we have in his room. We do the same thing for Hadley and measure her every year on her birthday. Huxley is almost three feet tall! Another walk at swim practice, and then Huxley was getting antsy in the stroller, so we walked around a little bit. Later that evening, Hadley had a swim meet that her dad took her too. We are going to take turns staying home with Huxley, they are just too long and it’s not fun chasing him around a pool for hours and hours. One of the moms sent me some photos of her swimming!

Friday June 16
We saw a deer on our morning walk. Instead of swim practice, they had team photos that took almost two hours! The photographer had a bad memory card or something along those lines and he had to retake the individual photos. Very long morning. After lunch and naps, we headed to another park! It was Huxleys first time going down a slide by himself and it was the funniest thing to watch. He must’ve gone down the slide a dozen times.

Saturday June 17
Went to the zoo on a Saturday morning! It’s never really that crowded until closer to 11am/noon. We left when it started getting super crowded. Stopped by the fire house to see Kevin (and did not take one picture!) and then we just hung out at home. I watered the flowers, and Huxley played with a small cooler with water. After being in the sun, I brought out the wagon and umbrella to give him some shade. That umbrella works wonders! Hadley went down to the neighbor’s house and helped them sell lemonade, they donated all of the proceeds to cancer!

Sunday June 18
For Father’s Day we were supposed to go to the lake for the day, but the volleyball league we joined decided to have the first game on this day. Total bummer. But we made do. I took a walk with Huxley, and then cut the grass. The big kids came over, we haven’t seen them in over a month it felt like. They went on vacation with their mom, and weekends with friends, and things like that. We went to the volleyball game, which is held at our pool, it was a lot of fun. Met some new parents, and one that goes to Hadley’s school! After the game, we swam at the pool for a little bit and then headed home to grill out dinner. We ate outside on the back deck. It was nice to just hangout all together.

Happy Tuesday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!

Recapping our week on the blog! Volleyball camp, dentist, first swim meet, pool, and the fire department picnic!

Monday June 5
Like I mentioned last week, for the month of June I’m trying to walk at least 1-2 miles every day! So far so good! Huxley has almost gotten into the routine of knowing when it’s time to walk. Hadley had her first day of volleyball camp. Kevin was doing drills at the firehouse, it’s cool to see the photos. The weather has been lacking rain lately, so we’ve been watering the grass as much as we can. It’s helping a little bit. When Huxley is going to bed, we’ll read books and then he will walk to his bed ready to go to sleep. It’s the cutest thing!

Tuesday June 6
Another walk in the morning before camp! On day two I was able to sneak in and watch the last few minutes of volleyball camp. We went out to dinner to celebrate my Moms birthday, it was the kids’ first time going to a hibachi grill. Huxley was a little nervous when they lit the fire, but he calmed down after a minute or so.

Wednesday June 7
Walked by myself which is always nice since I don’t get to do it very often. Day three of volleyball camp for Hadley, and a dentist appointment for Hadley too. Busy busy days!

Thursday June 8
Killing it with the walks before volleyball camp this week. Last day of camp for Hadley, she learned so much and had so much fun in the process. And then she had her first swim meet of the summer! Kevin had to work at the firehouse, so thankfully we had a sitter watch little Huxley. It was nice to be able to relax while someone was with Huxley. Hadley swam a freestyle relay, individual freestyle and backstroke. And she had two more friends from school join swim team this year, she’s having a blast!

Friday June 9
Another walk and I’m feeling amazing. Much better than YouTube workouts, I get my heart rate up way higher by fast walking. I also cut the grass, both the front and back yard. I had over 12k steps by 4pm! After the grass was cut, we watered the grass with the sprinkler and Huxley ran through it a few times. He loved it. Kevin had his last two games to umpire, and Hadley went with him. Huxley and I were on our own for dinner. I was exhausted, took a shower after Huxley went to bed, and basically went to bed myself.

Saturday June 10
Lately, when Huxley wakes up, he drinks his morning milk the second he wakes up. He’ll go to the window and look outside. And then we change his diaper haha I’ve learned that if you try to change his diaper before he drinks his milk, he’s very cranky. So, if he wants to drink his milk with a wet *ss diaper, then so be it haha Kevin worked at his part time firehouse job during the day, and then met us at the pool. We had a ball, just love our pool. We hungout with friends for the first part, and then cousins after. We ordered pizza and had a fun afternoon at the pool. Before I went to bed, I thought I saw a giant terd on the front porch, but it was a frog.

Sunday June 11
It was raining in the morning, so I did a YouTube workout that was a two-mile walking at home one, it was pretty good. And then we headed out to the annual fire department picnic. It’s a fun time, and the kids have so much fun. The lines are basically no lines at all, and they get unlimited cotton candy, sno cones, ice cream, and popcorn. They have hamburgers and hot dogs to eat also. Hadley rode the roller coaster for the first time too! Poor Huxley did a face plant with the concrete, he was walking and tripped over a crack or something. It was a fun day! The rain held off until dinner time, and we came home and grilled out some steaks and corn on the cob for Kevin and me.

Happy Monday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!

Recapping our week on the blog! Memorial Day, water balloons, zoo, brownie fun day, pool, and more!

Monday May 29
Our Memorial Day was super chill, and super weird. We are usually at the lake for this holiday, and with Kevin working two extra jobs we had zero time to go to the lake. So we made the best of the holiday at home. Started off the day with asking my Instagram peeps if they plan on grilling out for the day. It’s almost like are you not American if you don’t grill out for the summer holidays? Did a YouTube workout. Hadley helped prep for the food we were going to have. We grilled out steak, potatoes, corn on the cob, and made a cake. Hadley helped icing the cake with the blue icing she picked out at the store. We planned dinner so we ate later than normal, after Huxley went to bed, so we could enjoy being together outside on the back deck. It was so nice. After dinner, we did sparklers!

Tuesday May 30
Started off the day with a YouTube workout. Huxleys facetimes with his Dad when he’s at the firehouse, he always manages to take a screenshot while talking to him. To change things up, we ate lunch in the garage, and did some water balloons. After Huxley went down for his nap, Hadley and I went outside and hung out and got some sun. We are obsessed with this brand of chicken nuggets from Kroger called Just Bare, they almost taste like Chick-fil-a and are so good! After Huxley went to bed, Hadley did some more sparklers.

Wednesday May 31
What a busy Wednesday! Started off the day at the zoo, we love to get there as soon as they open so we have an hour of less crowded people. Huxley loved the train, and they both loved the new carousel! After the zoo, we headed home to eat lunch and for Huxley to take his afternoon nap. And then we headed to the pool! Kevin came with us for a little bit, and then had to umpire a softball game. We stayed for Hadleys first swim team practice of the year.

Thursday June 1
Hadley is not in girl scouts, but her school had a brownie fun day for all the lower grades so she chose to participate. It was a few hours in the morning of fun at a park! While she was having fun, I took a long walk at my favorite trail all by myself. Listened to some workout tunes, and walked as fast as I could. It felt so good. I picked up Hadley from brownie fun day, and her and I headed to the pool for a little bit. After Huxleys nap, him and Kevin met us at the pool for a little bit before Kevin had to umpire some more ball games. Hadley went with him of course, she loves it!

Friday June 2
Started our morning by taking a walk around the neighborhood, Hadley decided she didn’t want to do the hills, so she came home and left Huxley and I for the rest of the walk. While Huxley napped, we sat outside in our baby pool. Hadley sat in the pool, and literally almost fell asleep. I sat in the camping chair with my feet in the water, and almost fell asleep myself. It was so relaxing. When Huxley woke up, we had him join us in the baby pool and he was in heaven.

Saturday June 3
For the month of June, I’m trying to at least walk 1-2 miles a day, so far, I’m right on track! Kevin had to umpire three games during the day, after he was done, we went to our school festival. The weather decided to poor down rain right as we were going to the festival. Kevin, Hadley, and Huxley made it to the shelter before it started to poor, and I was stuck in the trunk of my car waiting for the rain to let up. By the time the rain stopped, it was time for Huxley’s bath so Kevin and him went home. Kevin didn’t mind because he was ready to go to bed himself, after working twenty-four hours at the firehouse the day before and umpiring three games in the hot heat. So, Hadley and I went to the festival just us two and had the best time. Love our school!

Sunday June 4
Another morning walk around the neighborhood, Huxley is so content on our walks! Cleaned out my car from the busy weekend we’ve had. Got all my Amazon returns in order, if I don’t mark them with where they are to be dropped off at, and when they are due by, I will never remember! When Hadley goes to get Huxley when he wakes up from his naps, it always ends up with her getting in his bed with him, and he just loves it. We headed to the festival to work a booth! I was a little nervous with Huxley in the stroller, but with all the snacks he was a champ. He stayed in the stroller the entire time! We hung out and walked around until Kevin got there. Hadley waited until the last day of the festival to win a fish, and she won not only one, but two! After Kevin arrived, Huxley and I headed home to put him to bed. Kevin and Hadley stayed and worked another booth. It was a good weekend!

Happy Monday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!

Weekly recap.

Recapping our week on the blog! Doctor’s appointment, cutting down trees, Grand-Guest Day, softball, and Mother’s Day.

Monday May 15
Started the week off with working out in the morning. Took a picture of Huxley laying on Hadleys bed, it doesn’t even look like him! When Hadley gets home from school, she’s been reading in the garage for a different change of pace. Selfie picture of Huxleys feet, but Huxley himself. And Hadley practicing softball in the garage.

Tuesday May 16
Started off my Tuesday morning with a deep tissue massage, and it was amazing. I’ve been having issues with the left side of my whole body, it’s like tight and sore and hurts every morning when I wake up. My doc recommended I get a massage once a week for a month, which is awesome, but damn expensive.

Wednesday May 17
YouTube workouts some mornings, I like the ones that are all standing, and they give other options instead of jumping. Huxley ate lunch from the dining room window, watching our neighbor cut the grass. Got a Starbucks latte after school, and Hadley got her favorite strawberry acai drink. My brother-in-law came over to get all of our wood from the trees we had chopped down, so Hadley got to hang out with her cousin for a little bit. And then softball team pictures after dinner, I never understood why they do team pictures when the season is about over!

Thursday May 18
Watering the flowers with Huxley was not fun this morning, he wanted to pick off every flower, hit every flower, and play in the water puddles. When Kevin facetimes from the firehouse, Huxley always manages to take a screenshot of his Dads face!

Friday May 19
Field day for Hadley, she was so excited! Her team won the tug of war event! After dinner, Hadley went with her Dad for his umpire game, I put Huxley to bed, and then sat outside all by myself. It was such a nice night!

Saturday May 20
Kevin umpired a few games; Hadley went with him again. And then we had a date night that has been long overdue, we went to a retirement / birthday party for one of Kevin’s firefighters, and then hit up a festival and played some big six!

Sunday May 21
Only took two pictures, I had a headache from hell! Natalie came over and spent the night! It was good to have time with her, and she seemed to be super relaxed. We just hangout, ate, watched tv, played outside. It was a nice chill day!

Happy Monday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!

Weekly recap.

Recapping our week on the blog! Doctor’s appointment, cutting down trees, Grand-Guest Day, softball, and Mother’s Day.

Monday May 8
Worked out in the morning. Had a doctor’s appointment to figure out what’s going on with my wrist and back. My wrist is tendonitis, and I have to get a brace or cortisone shot. I’m opting for the brace for now. My back is still up in the air, doc recommended I get a massage once a week for a month and see how it feels and go from there. I can definitely do that! Hadley has been helping with Huxley with his bath, and he’s loving every second of it.

Tuesday May 9
Took a walk after we dropped Hadley off at school, I even ran a little bit! Huxley loves walks, he just looks all around, listens to the birds, watches the people, just loves it. I had to use the bathroom so bad when Huxley was eating breakfast, so instead of leaving him at the table alone, I just scooted his highchair to the bathroom which is literally feet away. We had a bit of a fun afternoon, Hadley had early dismissal from school and then we had a random guy knock on her door wanting a quote to cut down some trees. My husband would cut down every tree in the backyard if he could. So, we had four trees cut down and ends up these young guys are doing three other houses on our street. I’ve got some stories to tell about them, but let’s just say wouldn’t recommend. They got the job done, and that’s about it.

Wednesday May 10
Worked out in the morning. Kevin did a landscaping job with his buddy. Played outside with the kids, they could literally live outside. The second we go out, Huxleys mood instantly changes. Kevin umpired a game, and then had a meeting with the sports association. Hadley and I chilled on the couch before bed, she enjoyed a popsicle for dessert.

Thursday May 11
Cut the backyard jungle as I call it, it’s such a mess back there. We are going to fix it up one of these days. And moved all of the wood that the tree guys cut, so the stump guy could grind the stumps. During the day, Hadley had “Grand-Guest” day at school, both of her grandparents came and she was so excited! I couldn’t wait to hear how her day went when I picked her up. Had a Kroger Boost delivery after school. The stump guy came but had a malfunction with his machine, so he had to stop and come back soon.

Friday May 12
Worked out in the morning. Hadley was off school for teacher in-service day; we baked some cookies for Mother’s Day. My left leg has been cramping for a few days, and I noticed some bruising on my calf. No idea what that’s about, but hope it goes away. It doesn’t hurt, just more of an annoyance. Hadley loves to help Huxley put his shoes on before we go outside, he’ll sit on the kitchen step and wait for her to help him, it’s adorable. Ended the night with Hadley doing a movie night for me! We changed it up a little, and while I was giving Huxley a bath and putting him to bed, she drew a picture of the movie she chose, and put out some snacks all on her own. It was the cutest thing!

Saturday May 13
Early softball game, just love watching her play! Huxley was so good, even during his morning nap time. After the game, Hadley went with her dad to watch him umpire basically all day. She came home with some burnt shoulders; we need to add sunscreen in the softball bag! We met my parents for an early Mother’s Day dinner!

Sunday May 14
Started off Mother’s Day with a trip to get the flowers! I love it that Hadley wants to go with me and wants to help plant them! We planted pretty much all morning and afternoon, and then Kevin mulched. Had steak, asparagus, and potatoes for dinner. Hadley made me a flowerpot at school, and a card all about mom. I love handmade things!

Happy Monday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!

Weekly recap.

Recapping our busy week on the blog! Batting cages, doctor appointment, Cinco de Mayo, a derby party, and more softball!

Monday May 1
Started off the week with volunteering at Hadleys school for a little bit, it was cutting stacks of paper that were laminated for the new phonics program. After school, we went to a batting cage for an hour, her and Kevin practiced hitting, catching, and throwing. She is so into softball this year, we are loving it, especially her dad! After the batting cages we went to dinner. Once we got home, Hadley wrote a few thank you notes to some of the staff at her school for Teacher Appreciation Week. Kevin and Hadley have been looking at softball reels on Instagram, it’s so cute.

Tuesday May 2
Had my annual lady doc appointment, and whenever I go anywhere that has a parking garage, I have to take a picture of the floor I park on because I will most probably get lost. I’m pretty familiar with this garage anyways, but I still take a picture! Hadleys softball practice was rained out because of wet fields, so Kevin decided to have practice at the batting cages instead. The girls loved it!

Wednesday May 3
Huxley cracks me up when I take my workout selfie, with him trying to run to the phone as the timer is going off. He loves to watch out the window, he watches for anything really. When Kevin mows the grass, he’ll literally stand there almost the entire time! Sometimes Hadley takes a shower as soon as her homework is done after school. We took a walk to our mailbox; we have a community mailbox where you have to use a key to get the mail and Hadley loves to be the one that opens the box.

Thursday May 4
Kevin had a game after dinner he umpired, Hadley loves to go with him. He will set up her chair, and she’ll watch the entire time unless she runs into friends. She took her book with her to finish reading, so she could take another AR test at school the next day.

Friday May 5
Had a smoothie for breakfast! Almond milk, spinach, greek yogurt, and strawberries. And happy Cinco de Mayo! Had my Aunt and mom over to celebrate the festive day! Kevin and Hadley had her birthday date a little early this month, so instead of going out, we stayed home and celebrated. I made homemade margaritas; they are so good. And tried a new recipe, homemade jalapeno margaritas and after trying them they were really good too! We had queso and chips, ordered Chipotle with free delivery for Cinco de Mayo only, and just hung out! It was a fun time!

Saturday May 6
Hadleys softball game, just love watching her play! I feel like I say this every week, but she has gotten soo into softball this year it’s so much fun to watch. I think she’s really starting to get the game and wants to keep learning. She wants to be the catcher, and it’s awesome. My parents came to watch, and Kevin unfortunately had to be at the firehouse for this game. Later on after Huxleys afternoon nap, we headed over to one of Hadleys friends house, they had a derby party and it was fun! We placed bets, the girls played, and Huxley had a ball with all the older high school girls.

Sunday May 7
Hadley had a softball camp in the afternoon, and because it poured down rain the whole morning, they moved the camp to the high school gym. She was a little nervous once we got there, and saw all the girls there, but she ended up being just fine. When it was over, she was super excited to tell us what she learned and was glad she did it! I’m so proud of her for going to this camp, not knowing a single person. Later on in the day, Kevin had two games to umpire, and we went to watch him for the first one. They were both at our school, and one of the games was older sisters of Hadley’s friends so she was happy to be able to play and hangout. Huxley was in heaven walking around, and having the older sister give him so much attention. We love to watch Kevin umpire, especially the older girls!

Happy Monday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!
