We make a real effort to see Santa every Christmas. When Hadley was born ten years ago, we went to Macy’s downtown Cincinnati to see the big guy. I remember the day like it was yesterday. My first child, I was all by myself because Kevin was working (I think) and I drove to the nearest Santa that was open on Christmas Eve morning. I had to park what felt like forever away, walk in the bitter cold holding the car seat, but I made it.
The Macys Santa was the best I had ever seen. Ever since this day, we went to see this Santa almost every year for the last ten years.
Here is Hadley at one month old.

Hadley at one years old.

Hadley at two years old. She was very nervous this year.

Hadley at three years old, with Natalie. I remember she was super nervous so Santa came down to her level and stamped her little hand.

Hadley at four years old with Brady and Natalie. Looking less nervous, but still far away from Santa.

Hadley at five years old. Sat in his lap and all smiles! This is the year he moved from Macys downtown to Rising Star casino because of Macys closing.

Hadley at six years old. We had to go to Bass Pro Shop because the real Santa wasn’t seeing kiddos because of the “vid”.

Hadley at seven years old. At Rising Star casino in a different area than two years ago.

Hadley at eight years old. I can’t remember why we didn’t see the real Santa this year. It might’ve been because my brother invited us to this outing and a Santa was there.

Hadley at nine years old, Huxley at one years old. At the casino, and Santa upgraded to a big red chair to accommodate multiple people. Hadley all smiles, Huxley scared to death.

Hadley this year at ten years old, Huxley at two years old. All happy smiles!

I seriously say every year, this Santa is the best. He truly is! He takes his time with each kid, talks to them, makes them comfortable. And if they aren’t comfortable, he’ll do whatever he needs to for the parent to get that photo. He is amazing.
Hope you have the best Santa wherever you may be! It makes the season even more magical for our kids!
Merry Christmas Eve!

Cute! I miss the Santa years
I know I’ll miss those years too! It’s so special for the kids.
We have a Santa like that. I’ll never forget the year my mom was really sick (she would pass away February the following year). My son was 6. He told Santa all he wanted was Grandma to get better. There was HUGE line behind us. Santa beckoned for me and my husband to come over and asked if he could pray with us. I still tear up with I think about that small, kind gesture.
Oh my goodness, this gave me chills. How sweet was that Santa? Those type of people are special indeed.
