Hi friends! Happy Friday! Here are the favorites this week.
LARGE SCHOOL LOCKER As soon as I saw this, I thought of Hadley. It could help her get more organized with all her sports, but I don’t know if it would work in the garage or in her room. I’m sure she would love something like this in her room. Right now, she has all her sports uniforms in a small basket in her room. It works okay, always something not where it should be and left shuffling around looking for it last minute. Locker can be found here.
WITCH’S BREW CAULDRON MUG Such a cute mug for the spooky season that is upon us! Or for a Harry Potter movie night, or any Halloween type movie. Mug can be found here.
KID’S DEODORANT Hadley wears deodorant some of the time, and this looks cute but I’m a little skeptical on how it smells or works! Deodorant can be found here.
KID’S TRAMPOLINE How cute is this trampoline? It looks like the perfect size for our backyard. And the weight limit would be more than enough for both Hadley and Huxley to jump together. Hadley loves trampolines, she is always begging to go to a trampoline park. Trampoline can be found here.
HEATED CAMPING CHAIR We are going to be going to sporting events for a long time in our parenting life, and this chair looks awesome for those cold winter months watching outdoor games. I wonder how good it works? Chair can be found here.
Happy Friday everyone, have a great weekend! And as always, thanks for reading!

All of the holidays are just around the corner now!
I’m looking forward to all of the holidays, but for right now, Halloween is the one I am looking forward to the most. I love watching the kids get all dressed up and excited to go trick-or-treating!
Happy What’s Up Wednesday! On the last Wednesday of every month, Shay and Sheaffer host a link up party of what’s going on with you right now. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post. I thought it would be fun to join along!
Garlic chicken and potatoes was a new recipe I tried. I liked the chicken, but the potatoes were hard as a rock even though I followed the recipe. The recipe can be found here! We’ve also had steak, pizza, tacos, and pork chops.
Loving how Hadley is obsessed with softball. Loving we celebrated the end of summer at the lake and a pool party. Loving having movie nights. Loving Hadley having a few off days from school due to a water main break. Loving watching the Bengals start their season. Loving lunch duty at Hadley’s school. Loving having a date night after nine long months. Loving seeing the Reds play for their last home game. Loving grilling out at home for dinner. Loving walking at the trail. Loving watching Huxley hangout with a random little girl at softball practice.
At the beginning of September, Hadley’s school had a water main break and she ended up having a few days off school. I love it when she’s home with Huxley and I, she is such a big help! Had an outdoor movie night with just Hadley, Kevin, and I, the movie was Talladega Nights. Interviewed for a part time job, and I got it! Excited to see where this goes! My Mom watched Huxley for one of Hadley’s Friday night double header softball games. Worked lunch duty at Hadley’s school, and Huxley loved every second of it. Went out with one of my girlfriends on a Saturday night, it had been nine long months since Kevin and I had a date night. We need to work on that more, but it is what it is right now. He works a lot, so I’ll take it when we can make it happen. Went to the last home Reds game and had the best weather!
Sweater weather (lmao!).
I checked out a book at the library, and I’m actually enjoying it! I am NOT a reader at all, but I’ve been seeing soo much about the author Colleen Hoover, I wanted to try some of her books. I am starting with It Ends With Us and am liking it so far! I found this list of all of Colleen’s books, and I’m going to start from the beginning. I’m curious how I’ll do!
Getting excited about Fall, I guess. Haha! I’m not the biggest fan of Fall, but it’s coming whether I like it or not. Watching Hadley play in her first tournaments for softball next month, and her playing volleyball for the first time!
Finally finished Vanderpump Rules and I’m sad it’s over! And *spoiler alert* I’m soo mad at Sandoval and how he treated Ariana. I’m sort of watching Suits now, I’m on Season 2 and I just can’t totally get into it. It’s okay, but I’m getting bored and need something that I’m more interested in. Football season is here, and I’m all for it. Who Dey! We finally won our third game, so let’s hope that gives them the push they needed. And as I mentioned earlier in this post, I started reading a book!
Lots and lots of shorts and tees/tanks! I don’t really wear much of anything else. Some light jackets. Bengals gear, Notre Dame gear, and Reds gear!
Watching Hadley’s softball games and tournaments, celebrating ten years of marriage, Kevin’s birthday, and Halloween!
Recapping our week on the blog! School pictures, lunch duty, softball, date night, and the Reds game!
Monday September 18 Hadley had school pictures at school, and she wanted her hair curled. I love it when she wants to curl her hair, because that is a rarity most days. So, we curled her hair, and when I was finished, she decided she didn’t like the curls and got a little upset. I straightened her hair after that, and it looked better still had some curl to it but much straighter. After we got her off to school, came back home and worked out in the family room, and did a Nike training workout on the app. When Hadley got home from school, she did her homework outside because it was so nice. Ended up killing a bee, like we usually do almost every day some weeks. The bees are so bad this year!
Tuesday September 19 Worked out in our bedroom, bright and early before it was time for the kids to wake up. After school drop off, Huxley and I stopped and got some gas. And then I had to get my fingerprints done for this part time job I’m going to be starting soon. When Hadley got home from school, she wanted me to do her hair for softball practice.
Wednesday September 20 Worked out in our bedroom again, bright and early before it was time for the kids to wake up. On the way to school, some days Hadley likes to listen to the podcast, Little Stories Everywhere. After school drop off, we got a car wash. Came home and ate breakfast. And then took a shower and let me just tell you getting ready with Huxley awake is not the easiest thing. I usually shower when he’s napping! But today, I had lunch duty at Hadley’s school. Once a month I volunteer in the cafeteria, and this year it was way easier with Huxley than last year. He basically just runs around the entire cafeteria, all the kids give him high fives, play with him, talk to him, he loved it. Later on in the day, we played outside, and Huxley ran through the sprinkler while we watered the grass.
Thursday September 21 Worked out at the walking trail, with all the construction they closed the trail at about a half a mile, so I did the trail twice to get in a little over a mile. When we got back home, sometimes I’ll just catch Huxley watching the Today Show, it’s so funny! Hadley does her homework so good after school.
Friday September 22 Wild turkeys in our backyard, while we ate breakfast. We have so many random animals in our neighborhood. Hadley had doubleheader softball games, and we had a sitter come over to watch Huxley since they get over kind of late. Hadley just loves softball!
Saturday September 23 Went to the library to pick up a book I’ve had on hold, I want to try and start reading the Colleen Hoover books. I’m starting with the first book, It Ends With Us. Had another sitter come over to watch both kids while Kevin and I had a date night with my friend from high school. We haven’t had a date night in nine months! It’s insane, but that’s my life right now. We had a good time!
Sunday September 24 We went to the last home game for the Reds! And, we didn’t even realize but it was Joey Votto’s last home game also. It was a great day for a ballgame. The kids had so much fun. Huxley did pretty good for sitting through an entire baseball game! Brady and Natalie both brought there girlf/boyf too.
Happy Tuesday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!
Hi friends! Happy Friday! Here are the favorites this week.
NOTRE DAME SHIRT Notre Dame plays OSU this weekend, and we had plans to watch it at a tailgate, but the plans got cancelled. I ordered this shirt for Kevin anyway because, he is a Notre Dame fan, and we are not OSU fans. Let’s go fighting irish! Shirt can be found here.
ACROSS THE BOARD BASEBALL GAME Hadley would love this game! It looks fun to play. Game can be found here.
ION BOOMBOX DELUXE RETRO WIRELESS BLUETOOTH SPEAKER I saw this come up on an Instagram ad, and thought are you serious? $95 for a retro boombox that has bluetooth? You know people are going to buy this, I just find it hilarious that back in my day these things were run by batteries and cords. Is the cassette deck just for display? So curious. Boombox can be found here.
BACON SPONGE If you cook bacon at all, doesn’t this sound amazing? Bacon grease is inevitable! This sponge does however require some laundry, which I loathe. But instead of using paper towels to soak up the grease, this does the job. Sponge can be found here.
Happy Friday everyone, have a great weekend! And as always, thanks for reading!

Here is your reminder to order your 2024 planner! This will be my first time ordering a different planner other than the Happy Planner for two years in a row!
I started using the Passionate Penny Pincher planner this year and ordered it again for 2024. It’s the first time I’ve ordered something different than the Happy Planner. I really like the weekly layout, and you can write so many different things on each day.
I loved the different selections for the planner, so I ordered the blue floral for 2024. All of these planners are made with the nice thicker paper and have accessories you can order to go along with the planner.
The only thing I cannot get used to, is the daily checklist for household chores. I just can’t keep up with it. But I’m going to keep trying, because the planner can get you on track with organization for sure.
Check out the Passionate Penny Pincher planners here! They are on sale right now!
Recapping our week on the blog! No school, doctor visit, softball, and the Bengals game!
Monday September 11 Started the week with working out in the basement, and then had a me day. I got my nails done, walked around Target, and hit up TJ Maxx. It was so nice; I almost didn’t know what to do with myself being all alone, but I soaked every second of it all up. And then, around one o’clock in the afternoon, we got a school wide text saying the water main has been broken, messed up, whatever, and we need to pick up our kid as soon as we can. So, on my way home from being out all day, I drove by my daughter’s school and parents were already picking up kids, so we all loaded up in the truck and headed to school. After school, we headed to Sam’s and got some stuff we need for the house. Kevin and Hadley went to Natalie’s high school volleyball game, and Hadley made a friend just chilling at the top of the bleachers.
Tuesday September 12 Worked out in the morning, and then went to the doctors for Hadley. She had no school again for the water main break, so she was home with us! She’s been having some foot pain in her one heel, so we got it checked out. The doctor diagnosed her with Severs disease, which is super common in young kids that are active in sports. The doc recommended we get gel heel inserts for her shoes, take ibuprofen as needed, and ice / rest her foot. I had a phone interview in the afternoon, and my best girl Hadley entertained Huxley in his crib with toys galore, and just kept him occupied while I was on the phone. She is seriously the best! And then she had softball practice, and then that’s it!
Wednesday September 13 Another day of Hadley being at home, water main break still not fixed! We love it when she’s home, especially Huxley! Went to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast, as part of Hadleys small reward for watching Huxley the day before for my phone interview. She got two donuts with sprinkles, I got a chai tea latte, which I think Starbuck’s is ten times better, and Huxley tried the munchin donut holes. And then we ate lunch in the family room, while watching the movie Elemental, it was so cute! I don’t think I will ever not like kid movies, I’ve always loved them!
Thursday September 14 Back to school finally, the water main is fixed! Hadley chose to read a little on the way to school, even though it takes us minutes to get there. Worked out after we dropped off Hadley and did the normal everyday house stuff. For school pickup, I got Huxley out of his car seat since we got there a little early and let him play in the car. That boy loves to push every button in the van! My Mom came over to hangout, and to get the routine down of feeding Huxley dinner and putting him to bed since she was going to be watching him Friday night for Hadley’s softball games.
Friday September 15 Worked out in the morning! Before dinner, both my mom and Dad came over for my mom to watch Huxley since Hadley has double headers every Friday night and they are way too late for Huxley to be at. So, my mom stayed home and watched him, while my dad went with us to the games. Kevin was at the firehouse this night. The first game was a little hot, as we were sitting directly in the sun. She plays so well, and I just love watching her be so happy in this sport. The second game started around 7:45pm, and it got cold quick. I brought leggings and a jacket to put on, and I’m so glad I did because it got into the 50’s at night! Meanwhile back at home, Huxley ate dinner, had a bath, and went to bed so good for my mom.
Saturday September 16 I don’t know if it was the late-night cold temperatures, or just being out later the night before at softball, but I was completely zonked Saturday morning. We pretty much chilled on the couch all day off and on. Went to the store to get some groceries for the Bengals game the next day. Kevin worked a detail at the UC Bearcats football game, he was on the roof inspecting the fireworks. And then after Huxley went to bed, Hadley and I watched Monsters Inc. Was a good chill day.
Sunday September 17 Kevin worked another detail at Oktoberfest, and then my parents came over to watch the Bengals game! It’s hard to be a Bengals fan sometimes, but we still cheer them on!
Happy Monday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!
