Newborn Rolling Cart.

I made a newborn rolling cart to keep in our bedroom for the first few weeks/months of the little babe’s life. You know, when the baby is trying to figure out his days from nights, etc. I figured a rolling cart like this would be of great help for those first sleepless nights, and getting used to having a newborn around again.

On the first shelf, I have a large water bottle to keep the thirst quenched! The breast pump (not pictured because it took forever to arrive), and then some small little containers for hair bands, nipple cream, and an empty basket with face wipes, and to just put whatever might need a space for when I start using the cart. And a calming journal from my Aunt that I plan to start, or at least attempt to start when the feeling strikes.

On the second shelf, diapers and wipes.

On the third shelf, pads for Mama, bottles that came with the breast pump, nursing pads, the Haakaa breast milk collector, and breast milk storage bags.

The rolling cart is from Michaels, the exact one I purchased can be found here. It’s a 3-tiered rolling cart, and after the newborn phase is over I plan to use this for my office! So it works out perfectly!

Labor & Delivery Nurse Basket.

Have you heard of these labor and delivery nurse baskets before? I found the idea on Pinterest, and couldn’t wait to make them! I made two baskets, one for the morning shift and one for the evening shift.

Inside the baskets are the exact same thing, a huge variety! Mainly, each item is for an individual and makes it easier to grab as you go. I used blue baskets from the dollar store, and tried to make the snacks all blue themed since we’re having a boy!

The nurses have been through a lot the past two years during this pandemic, so I thought what a nice way to say thank you. I hope it brightens their day just a little bit!

Superbowl 2022.

The Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams played in the Superbowl this year. This has been such an exciting time for our city, living in the hometown of the Bengals. Although we lost, and I’m sure it stings a little bit for the players, it’s been very humbling for our football team. We’ve been on the losing streak for many many years, and for them to make it this far, was just unbelievable to watch.

Started out the day with a workout, and church with my girl Hadley. Even our church bulletin had Who Dey on the front cover. And, our priest had the entire church sing the Who Dey song in place of the homily!

We had our own little Superbowl shindig, just Hadley and I. Being nine months pregnant, I’m not really wanting to go to parties especially when it starts later in the evening. Kevin had to work poor guy, he barely got to watch any of the game. In preparation for the big game, I pre-ordered some candy from a local shop called Fawn Candy. They had some cute Bengals items, so I got popcorn, chocolate helmets, and “B” for Bengals. The only appetizer we had was chips and cheese, and steak for dinner!

Made a few decorations for the mantle, all made in PhotoShop. Hadley drew Joe Burrow’s glasses to add the decorations.

Hadley is seven years old, and she literally sat on the couch for the entire game watching it. Like really watching the game, she had no iPad, nothing but us and the game. It was the cutest thing, and I love how she loves sports!

We had our own predictions of the final score, we were not right obviously, but had high hopes for a win!

Who Dey nails!

If you watched the game, the last two minutes were hard to watch! Hadley kept facing the couch saying, “Mom, I can’t watch!”

It was a tough loss, but still so exciting they made it to the Superbowl! After the awesome season they had this year, it makes it that much more exciting to watch for next year.

WHO DEY and Happy Valentines Day!

Little Man / Nursery Reveal

Call it pregnancy hormones, but I stood in the doorway to this room the other day and almost started tearing up. Putting this room together was such a labor of love, and it just makes me smile every time I walk by. To be honest, it feels so surreal that we’ll be bringing home a baby soon!

I’m excited to finally share the little man’s room here on the blog today. There is no “theme” for the room, it’s mainly just colors and random things that are boyish like. I am absolutely in love with how everything came together, and I can’t wait to watch this little guy grow in this space and make it his own.

The room was designed to be practical and functional, given the space we had to work with. Take a look at the photos of the room below. This little man is already so loved, and I hope that love translates into every square inch of his space.

38 weeks.

Ready when you are!

I feel like the end is officially in sight! Something about hitting full term brought on some major feelings. My energy level is increased a little bit, but that’s about it. Nothing else has really changed. Still having smoothies for breakfast, and wanting nothing but sweets and snacks after that.

The nesting phase is legit. I don’t remember it being quite intense with Hadley, but I was also working in an office setting everyday, so I wasn’t at home as many hours in the day. I’ve not really had any aches and pains too bad, other than when I do too much the belly hurts a little so I take a chill pill and rest on the couch or bed for a little while.

Last week at the weekly ultrasound, little man is growing and is looking to be larger than his sister Hadley already. That makes me a little nervous!

We are ready for you whenever you’re ready!

From the weekend.

Happy Monday folks! Here is a recap of the weekend.

Friday, February 4th

Started off the weekend with a snow day for both Hadley and myself. We got lots of snow and ice! After two days of slumming it around the house, I took a nice long hot shower and got all dolled up for nothing. Hadley loves to be outside, no matter the temperatures. She practically shoveled the entire driveway all on her own! At night, when Kevin and I take turns laying with Hadley for bed she’ll fall asleep in the cutest ways. This night she had her hand on my arm, snoring away.

Saturday, February 5th

Worked out both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, for a total of 7 days in a row this week! Super proud of myself to continue exercising at nine months pregnant! Hadley had indoor soccer, and Kevin finally got to go to one, and, she scored a goal! It never fails, she always seems to score when he’s working. So she was super excited he got to see her get a goal.

Sunday, February 6th

After church on Sunday, we headed to Home Depot to buy fun house things. Fun as in a toilet! Haha Hadley was thrilled to be in the backseat with the large box. While Kevin installed the toilet, I worked on finishing up the babys room. It’s all finished, and I can’t wait to share the details soon. Hadley was outside a lot on Sunday, just playing in the snow. She would take breaks and chill in her room, sitting on her reading nook bench. We have been having lots of fires lately, and we love it. After dinner, Hadley went back outside to play. We went out with her for a little bit, it’s just too cold! She just loves the outdoors. And last but not least, happy Super Bowl week! Just look at that stadium field!

Happy Monday, have a great week!

37 weeks.

Due date month is finally here!

Little man is fully cooked at 37 weeks. Which means, he could arrive at any time now, although I’m hoping he gives me at least a week or two. We have everything pretty much done, I still have to hang some stuff on the walls in his room and pack my bag, etc.

But time will tell. Because with babies, they come when they want or like my daughter Hadley, have to be forced out. I have a feeling this little man is going to overstay his welcome, but we shall see!

Time is just flying by, and I can’t wait to see what this little guy looks like! Will he be dark haired at birth, and then turn blond like Hadley? Or will he be blond from the get go?

Workouts have been consistent still, and I don’t want to stop until it’s go time. After I workout in the mornings, I just feel a ton better the rest of the day! On the days I don’t workout first thing, I feel very tired and not much like doing anything.

Looking forward to finishing up the babys room, packing a bag, and just finally getting to meet our little man!
