Share Our Lives: Saving Time On Chores.

Hi friends! I’m joining Joanne at Slices of Life for the Share Our Lives link up. For the first month of the year, we are sharing how we save time on chores! How fitting for the first of the year, when majority of the population wants to start fresh and make goals.

Here are the bloggers that are hosting this fun series! If you are interested in joining, it’s the second Monday of each month! Here are the things I do to save time on chores!

  1. Clean as you go. I’ve always pretty much been a clean as you go person, but more so after having kids. Especially in the kitchen and bathrooms. After I make a meal, or anything on the kitchen counters I always try my best to clean up afterwards.
  2. Vacuum 2-3 times a week. Kids. One word pretty much sums up vacumming every week. After the kids eat at the table one time, I could vacuum right then and there. So I tend to vacuum two to three times a week, especially in the kitchen where the kids eat.
  3. Combine chores. When cleaning the bathroom, which is my least favorite thing to clean, I try to clean all the toilets at the same time.
  4. Laundry. I can do one load a day and feel pretty caught up. I’ve read some of my favorite bloggers do laundry once a week! I just can’t imagine that!
  5. Put the house to bed. Every night before I go to bed, I like to wipe down the kitchen counters, clean off the little kitchen table, put any dishes in the sink in the dishwasher, wipe down the oven, and tidy up the family room. I know the house will get messy in five seconds after the kids wake up, or get home from school, but something about waking up to a clean area helps my brain.

Here are the topics for the rest of the year! I’m excited to join in!

  1. I like to clean as I go too and make sure the house is pretty clean and picked up before we head to bed. I like to start the day with as clean a house as I can. We used a little dust-buster wet/dry vac when the kids were little to clean under the table after each meal and bonus– they loved to be the ones doing it!
