I started something new this year, listening to books on audio! I feel like an old lady, but I have really started to like it. I still can’t read an actual book without falling asleep, but listening to one? I like it!
When I listen to books most is in the car when I’m alone or taking Hadley to softball when both kids are on their iPads, or at work when it’s slow. I use the Libby app, and it’s free! All you have to do is enter your library card into the app, and it’s like checking out books at the library except on your phone. You can read books on the app also, I just prefer audio.
Here are the books I’ve listened to this April through December!

To go from reading / listening to no books at all, to reading 38.5 books in a year? I’m amazed at myself. I seriously never thought I’d like audio books, but I do! It’s something different. Maybe it’s a phase I’m in, maybe I am turning into an old lady, but I like it for now! I have enjoyed listening to books this year!

I love my libby app! I too only use it for listening to audiobooks and listen to at least a couple each month; though I do sprinkle in plenty of reading too I just prefer physical books for that. I just listened to The Perfect Marriage this past month. I particularly enjoy listening to celebrity memoirs over reading them since they almost always narrate their own and I love hearing their stories in their own voice. I started listening to a series called Assistant to the Villain and enjoyed the narration so much I had zero desire to read the rest of the series myself and waited until I could listen to them in audio.
I too love a book even more when the voices reading it are amazing!
Fun recap! We’ve read many of the same books. I’ve been listening to book for only a year and a half, and I’m getting the hang of it. Most of mine, I can only check out for two weeks, so that’s the only downside.
Thank you! I’m so glad I started listening to books, I love it!
