I’m joining Joyce for this week’s Wednesday Hodgepodge! Each week she posts questions to answer and share with others. It’s a fun little prompt, and I am glad to be participating.
1. April 22nd is Earth Day…what’s the most ‘out of this world’ place on earth you’ve ever visited? Tell us something about it.
I haven’t visited anywhere that is the most out of this world that I can think of except Disney World on the ride Space Mountain. We went to Disney World years and years ago, when we were in grade school and that is one of the rides I remember the most.
2. A favorite quote, verse, or song lyric with the word earth in it?
Earth Song by Michael Jackson. I know Michael was weird the older he got, but I grew up listening to him, and I think he was talented. Love his music! The Smooth Criminal video is my favorite in case you were curious haha!
3. What’s the most trivial thing about which you have a strong opinion?
I won’t go into specifics, but when people don’t believe or agree on the same things you do, how upset and crazy people get! I believe what I believe, and I will still be friends and talk to people who may believe differently than I do. That is why we live in the United States of America! Could you imagine a world where everyone was the same? How boring would that be? I just wish everyone could agree to disagree and live their lives in peace.
4. What’s your most commonly used kitchen utensil or tool? What’s the last thing you made using that tool?
The pizza cutter! We use it for pizza, but I use it a lot to cut the crust off of sandwiches for the kids, or to cut anything for the kids really. The last thing I made using the pizza cutter was cutting the crust off of peanut butter sandwiches for the kids to take to a softball game to watch their dad umpire.
5. Marilyn (Memphis Bridges) gave me a great book of 3000 questions, and I’m going to try to use one in our Hodgepodge every week. Here is today’s – What is your greatest extravagance?
My greatest extravagance would be being at the beach. Anytime we are able to go to the beach, it is my most favorite thing in the world and I don’t take it for granted for one second. The beach brings me so much calmness and happiness!

Gearing up for another out of town softball tournament this weekend, yes that was the same as last week! Another tournament!
You’re livin’ the softball life : ) I wish we were able to hold our opinions and still be civil towards those who disagree. We have really gotten to an ugly place and it makes me sad. Hope you get a beach trip this summer!
You are the third (or so) person to mention Earth Song by Michael Jackson and I’ve never heard it. I’ll have to find it now!
