Wednesday Hodgepodge.

I’m joining Joyce for this week’s Wednesday Hodgepodge! Each week she posts questions to answer and share with others. It’s a fun little prompt, and I am glad to be participating.

1. Do you think you’re driven more by curiosity or comfort? Explain.
What a great question! I’d say I’m driven more by curiosity, but comfort helps me act on it. I crave a routine, but want to see what I’m capable of. I also like a clear plan, a manageable schedule, and some reassurance before taking the next step. I’m willing to stretch when I can see how it fits into my family and everyday life.

Curiosity gets me interested; comfort gives me the footing to move forward. I don’t want to stay stuck, I want growth that feels doable.

2. What non-food item is in your refrigerator or freezer?
Ice packs! We use them to keep lunches cold, or to ice Hadley’s ailments from sports.

3. Are you comfortable with silence? If you’re home alone, do you like silence or do you need regular background noise? Do you seek out times and places to be silent? What’s your favorite place to find silence/be silent?
I am comfortable with silence. If I am home alone, I do like to have some background noise because you know, some houses have weird sounds sometimes and they tend to happen when I’m alone! I do not seek out times and places to be silent. My favorite place to find silence would have to be while walking at the trail, sometimes I don’t listen to headphones on purpose and just walk and listen to nothing!

4. Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping…which skill would you most like to possess and how would you put that skill to use today?
Landscaping hands down. I know nothing about the other three options. I love to plant flowers every spring, and to take care of them throughout the seasons. I love a good looking yard, and strive to keep it looking nice until it gets cold.

5. Do you lean more towards being too needy or too independent? Which do you find harder to deal with in others?
Too independent! My grandma would always tell me I should be so proud to be independent. Through high school and college, some of my friends could never be without a boyfriend, they couldn’t be alone! I was the opposite, never wanted to get married, always wanted to do things on my own without anyone’s help.

I find it harder to deal with people that are too needy. It really drives me nuts when people can’t do things on their own, and constantly need people to do things for them.

6. Insert your own random thought here.
As always, just happy to take the time to write this blog post. Wednesday Hodgepodge is always a fun one, I love to think about the weekly questions!

  1. I’m with you…would love more landscaping skills! And folks who lean towards needy can be challenging for me. Just sayin. I enjoyed your post today…happy Hodge Podge to you!

  2. Ice packs were all I could think of for #2 as well (not that I actually answered these questions on my blog but I did debate about joining in over the weekend).

  3. It’s nice to see you in the HP today. My hubs is the landscaper in the family and I just enjoy his handiwork. He pays people for a lot of it, but still does some himself. Mosty people here today agree needy people can be a challenge. Bloggers are capable it seems : )

  4. That is a fantastic answer for question 1!
I like a bit of background noise when I am home alone. It is just too quiet without it.
