Women’s Day 2021.

Happy Women’s Day! I’m not really a big fan of these type of days, like national whatever days, but I’ve seen so many inspiring posts today, I’ve been thinking of my own words to say for such an occasion. This quote by Eleanor Roosevelt resonates with me perfectly in this time of my life. The past year has been such an experience living through a pandemic, and has taught me so much about myself and the people in my life whether it be personally, professionally, acquaintances, or anyone really!

I hope these two beautiful young daughters of mine always know their worth and how amazing they can truly be. I will always love and support them in anything they do in life. I also hope I am strong, capable, smart, confident, loving, happy, and wonderful to these two young ladies, I hope I inspire and uplift them every single day. As a parent, we are here for our children and to make their life better as best we can! One day, maybe these two young ladies will read this and think wow that is my Mom / Step Mom! I can only hope. And if they don’t, that is okay too!

Here are the womanly things I’ve been pondering over for this national women’s day. Forgive even if you don’t get an apology (this one I still struggle with). You can’t begin to rebuild while you’re still holding on. Forgive, and let it go. I have a book in my Amazon cart that relates to this, I just need to hit the purchase button and read it! No matter how nice your pictures are, or how important the things you post are, some people just won’t hit the like button. And guess what? That’s okay! Keep on posting because you want to. Post anyway. Share your pictures. And, your stories. They put a smile on someone’s face.

People come and go, whether it be family, friends, co-workers, whoever, unfortunately it’s life. Sometimes these relationships you thought would last forever, end suddenly and you’re thinking what the hell? Well stop thinking. You’re never going to feel content. So own your part in it, learn from it, and then close the damn door. Allowing a new phase to start is the best way to go.

Not everyone has the same heart as you, which is hard for me to still understand but I’m getting better. You will be ignored or left out. And it won’t feel good. You’ll never know why. But, you will remember the pain of being left out, and you will make sure to include everyone so no one has to feel the way you did. Your kids will be left out. And I’m sure that will hurt even more, but it’s another opportunity to teach these young ladies a lesson in life.

This is my favorite part of this entire post….You are going to be too much for some people. Too loud. Too opinionated. Too talkative. Some people will never understand this and it’s okay. Keep being yourself. Find the ones who do understand, and love them so hard.

Life is hard. It’s messy, and ugly some days. But it’s also beautiful and fun and exciting. We only get one life to live, so make it an adventure and chase it! Life is not always easy, but soo worth it! Cheers to all the amazing women out there. Keep doing what you’re doing, keep taking care of you, and never forget to put yourself first!

I didn’t know a site existed until today, but here is more information on International Women’s Day!

From the weekend.

around here Kevin started working out with me and it’s been awesome! I’ve been begging him to join me for months!

around here picking up the babe after school, she’s always so happy! With her little red ICEE mouth.

around here hung around outside on my birthday, the weather was beautiful!

around here had a great birthday at home with my little family!

around here we made a recipe binder! If you watched my stories on Instagram this week, you’ll know how it all came together. The recipe box wasn’t working for me anymore so I went the binder route with tabs!

around here slowly started back to running. One morning was super cold, and even though my legs felt frozen it still felt so good. Even Kevin joined me on some runs this week!

around here did the weekly car wash! Nothing but sunny skies in the forecast for awhile.

around here put up a new saying on the letter board for St. Patrick’s Day coming up!

Happy Friday and bring on the weekend! It’s been A week work wise, very very glad it’s over. Lots of workouts, and with my husband joining me on occasion, good food, made a recipe binder, celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday sort of, celebrated my birthday, finished Bloodline on Netflix, started and finished Ginny & Georgia on Netflix, and went to Target with my kiddo.

The highlight though was the food. This past week I’ve been so lucky to have Kevin home most days and he’s been cooking like Betty Crocker around here. We made a meal plan for the week, and for the most part stuck to it. We ate so good, and it was all pretty much healthy. It helps so much when your partner eats better and works out with you! I’m loving it!

I’m so glad the next few days are nothing but sunshine in the forecast! It still might be a little bit cold out, but the sun shining makes it so much better! March has only just begun, and it’s been jam packed so far!

Have a wonderful weekend folks!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss.

Today is Dr. Seuss’ birthday! I put a cute little string cheese treat in Hadley’s lunch today to celebrate it.

I put a few signs up in the living room about Dr. Seuss. Where he was born, and the day he was born. I had some plans to make some cute snacks, but didn’t get around to it. But did find a great quote, “Why fit in when you were born to stand out!” Just love that quote, it reminds me of my daughter Hadley so much. She is her own unique individual, she does everything on her own terms, and isn’t afraid to do her own thing in situations, and doesn’t care what anyone thinks! I hope she continues to have that mindset as she continues to grow into her own.

A little side note, did you hear the news about some of Dr. Seuss’ books? Here is the article on CNN. I’m not a big news person, and I don’t like watching it much, but the reasons that things happen anymore are so insane to me! These books have been around for a very long time, and now that we are in the year 2021, some of the books portray people in ‘hurtful and wrong’ ways? I just don’t get it. Just had to add this in here so it can be something to look back on years from now.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss, we love your books!

Our Nashville trip.

This trip was decided on a whim, sort of. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law were already going to Nashville and invited us to go with them. Kevin tried surprising me because it rarely happens (haha), but I ended up finding out and we still went! And had a ball!

Weather wise, we were fairly lucky because the forecast called for rain the entire time. We got caught in one light drizzle, and the other times we must’ve missed the rain!

First stop was Jason Aldean’s for some food! The food was pretty good!

Second stop was Honky Tonk Central! Live music is pretty much the standard at every single one of these places. Since COVID, you are not allowed to dance or stand. You have to sit down at all of these places, and have to wear a mask when standing or walking around.

Next stop was AJ’s Good Time bar, which was our favorite place! We had great seats, and the music was so good! We stayed here the longest, and didn’t really want to leave but wanted to see other places.

Next was Legends Corner, the music was good just kind of okay for me.

We needed some food at this point, so we hit up Rock Bottom and my sister-in-law got carded! I had to take a photo of this because at our age you just don’t really get carded anymore.

We went back to the hotel to get an umbrella, and to put my hair up because of the rain drops! The hair was a mess pretty much the whole time, but I didn’t care after awhile. Kevin was going to wear his boots with his sweat pants, but we convinced him not too!

The Whiskey Shot was a very young crowd, just like majority of the town but we still didn’t care. It was fun just being together! The young singer at this place was a very young guy with his guitar only, he was pretty good though!

Saturday morning we went for a quick run. While we waited for the other two, we took a picture in the hotel with our lovely masks on. If you can’t tell already, I’m soo over wearing them!

It felt good to run around Nashville, you can tell by the map above we went all over. We took a few stops to look at the scenery, see how high the water was by the river!

After our run, we all got ready and then headed back out on the town. This day was the most rainy, but was scattered. We went to the rooftops of one of the places, I think this was the Mellow Mushroom.

We found this cute, small, very empty place called Alley Tap.

Our last place to go was the birthday party! The guy in the middle turned 50, and what better way to celebrate a big milestone than going to Nashville with close friends and family!

Nashville was a first for my husband, and he loved it! He got to wear his boots which makes him even more happy! A whirlwind weekend and so much fun.

Happy first day of March too. Just love new beginnings, and excited for fresh starts.
