Every single year, I say this same thing about summer ending. I never want it to end. Summer is my most favorite season and I’m always sad when it starts to get cooler. I love taking a look back at the summer season, so we can always remember the fun things we did, the places we went, and how we felt.
And so here we go, Summer 2023…

I want to remember Hadley helps Huxley put his shoes on.
I want to remember Huxley staying in the wagon for the entire games of softball.
I want to remember celebrating the end of softball season by treating the girls to ice cream.
I want to remember how much Hadley loves playing catcher.
I want to remember the last day of second grade.
I want to remember the kids playing in the front yard, even though it’s hilly and uneven.
I want to remember Brady graduating high school.
I want to remember date night and going to a festival after Mary’s retirement party.
I want to remember cheering on our cousin at her softball game.
I want to remember going to the pool with cousins.

I want to remember Kevin and Hadley practicing softball in the front yard.
I want to remember how much Hadley loves swim team.
I want to remember the kids tubing at the lake with friends.
I want to remember going on daily morning walks with Huxley.
I want to remember going to the zoo as much as we could.
I want to remember taking turns at swim meets because Huxley goes to bed at 7:30pm.
I want to remember having swim team breakfast of yummy pancakes.
I want to remember going to the park and how patient Hadley is playing with Huxley.
I want to remember delivering end of softball season goodie bags to the teams homes.
I want to remember Kevin working lots of details.

I want to remember playing cornhole at the lake.
I want to remember eating outside at Sonic.
I want to remember celebrating 4th of July at home on our back deck.
I want to remember both kids laying out in the driveway after playing in the sprinkler.
I want to remember Hadley loving the acai strawberry lemonade drink at Starbucks.
I want to remember soccer camp at Hadleys school.
I want to remember getting permanent bracelets with my sister-in-law.

I want to remember Huxley eating yogurt pops butt naked in the garage because it melts all over.
I want to remember joining a volleyball league at our pool.
I want to remember not knowing anyone on our team.
I want to remember Hadley was amazing watching Huxley some of the games.
I want to remember winning the volleyball championship.
I want to remember Hadley loves to fish.
I want to remember the walking trail construction.
I want to remember visiting Kevin at the firehouse and Huxley loving the firetruck.
I want to remember seeing my cousin that moved out of town at the lake and soaking up every second.

I want to remember driving to Kentucky to pick up school uniforms.
I want to remember how much Kevin loves to take Hadley shoe shopping for school.
I want to remember going to a new place, the Mt. Healthy Dairy Bar, on our Summer Bucket List.
I want to remember Huxley loves to watch Kevin mow the grass.
I want to remember the swim team banquet, and how many friends Hadley has met since we joined the pool.
I want to remember hosting our second Outdoor Movie Night.
I want to remember Hadley having fun at a friend’s birthday party with water slides.
I want to remember Hadley’s first sleepover at eight years old.

I want to remember Hadley sticking it through soccer, and then deciding to quit with it being too much with softball.
I want to remember going to the doctor to see about Hadleys heel, which was Sever’s disease.
I want to remember how happy Hadley is playing softball.
I want to remember Huxley loving the diggers parked on our street.
I want to remember interviewing for a part time job, and Hadley was home from school because of a water main break and was able to watch Huxley for me!
I want to remember Kevin working drill school.
I want to remember going to a park during a weekday and having it to ourselves almost.

I want to remember watching Elemental for lunch in the family room.
I want to remember going to see llama llama story time, Huxleys favorite books.
I want to remember Huxley laying down on the floor so awkwardly before bath time.
I want to remember watching Talladega Nights outside with Kevin, Hadley and I.
I want to remember Huxley going to sleep with his llama llama stuffed animal.
I want to remember walking with a firefighter wife.
I want to remember going to Jungle Jim’s with the kids.
I want to remember my Mom watching Huxley during Hadleys softball game.
I want to remember Jimmy Buffet passing away.
I want to remember Kevin working some Bearcat football games.
I want to remember Huxley trying hummus with pretzels for the first time and liking it.

I want to remember Hadley watching the first two Bengals game from start to finish.
I want to remember celebrating Brady graduating high school with having friends at the lake.
I want to remember seeing the horses at the lake.
I want to remember Hadley fishing before bedtime at the lake.
I want to remember going to our neighbors pool on Labor Day weekend, and met some new neighbors too.
Summer is over, and it was one to remember.
