Weekly recap.

Recapping our week on the blog! Hadley still sick, volleyball practice, out to eat, Home Alone movie night, nails, Christmas party, and Santa!

Monday November 27
Started the day with a YouTube workout! Finding our elf every morning, his name is Snitch. Tried a new hair product, and it smells so good. Hadley was home from school sick, she had enough energy to go on Google classroom and check out her classwork. Before dinner, Kevin started a fire. We love having fires in the winter!

Tuesday November 28
Hadley stayed home one more day, she woke up feeling a little icky still and coughing like crazy. After lunch, I went up to check on her and found her making bracelets. She was in bed for four days straight, so I think she got enough rest. Snitch the elf made his own comfy bed on a box of Kleenex. It’s been really hard keeping Huxley inside when it’s cold outside. Occasionally, we’ll throw on his coat and go outside for a few minutes. He gets so upset when we have to go inside, so he basically pouted inside with his coat on. I tried distracting him with the train! For bed, Huxley laid his head on my shoulder, and I whipped out my phone as quick as I could to capture the moment. He never does that, and I loved every second of it.

Wednesday November 29
Started the day with a workout. Snitch the elf made his way into Hadley’s room on her little tree on her nightstand. When Hadley got home, she had a lot of homework and classwork to makeup, so she got started on it right away. I was so proud of her; she did like ten worksheets and a few other things all in one night. We dropped off Hadley at volleyball practice, and then Huxley and I went to eat dinner at Frisch’s. Every year for Hadley’s birthday, we measure her on the ruler in her room.

Thursday November 30
Started the day with a workout. After Hadley got home from school, we went outside because it was semi-warm out. Huxley loves our neighbor, so we went over to watch him put up Christmas lights.

Friday December 1
Started the day with a workout. Snitch the elf came back as Kevin from Home Alone, to prepare for a movie night! We love Home Alone, we could watch it a few times a year. Hadley didn’t stay awake for the entire movie.

Saturday December 2
Huxley put the angel up on the tree, the kids take turns putting her up each year. Huxley loves to go in Kevins truck, on this day he handed his coat to Kevin to put on, so they went outside, and he just stood by his truck crying until they went somewhere. So, Kevin and Huxley went to the car wash! Hadley and I went to the nail salon, I got my nails done, and she got her toes done. Afterwards, we went to Starbucks, and then to Kohl’s. Later that night, we went to a Christmas party with parents from Hadleys school. Always a good time!

Sunday December 3
Had pancakes, eggs, and bacon for breakfast. Hadley tried to get Huxley to watch the Grinch movie with her. He’ll sit on the couch for about sixty seconds! After Huxley’s nap, we decided to go see Santa! We usually go towards the end of December, but it worked out to go now. We have gone to this Santa since Hadley was born; he is just the best! Huxley wasn’t a fan. Hadley loved talking to Santa! After we talked to Santa, we went outside to check out the live reindeer. And then we went to a restaurant nearby, it was pretty good. And then we walked around outside and checked out the Christmas lights around town. Started the day with prepping for Thanksgiving, we host every other year. We love doing it! After this year, we’ve pretty much got it down to a science. Hadley had volleyball practice this night, they switched it for Thanksgiving week.

Happy Tuesday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!

  1. So glad Hadley’s feeling better! It looked like a very festive week. I have lots of Santa photos that look very similar to that… both my middle and youngest went through stages where they were really quite terrified of him.
