Weekly catch up.

Recapping our festive week on the blog!

Early Christmas at my parents.
We celebrated Christmas the Friday before at my parents. It was a nice calm day with all the little cousins together. They were super excited to open their presents. After presents, my parents had LaRosa’s lasagna delivered. And then all the grandkids changed into their Christmas jammies, well, all except Huxley. They played a few games, and we hung out for a little bit. Huxley and his cousin Gabe are so cute together, they are just a month apart! The big kids couldn’t make it, and we missed them. It was a nice night with family!

Christmas Eve.
The day before Christmas Eve I started feeling pretty sick, but I managed to wrap every single present for these sweet kiddos of ours. Christmas Eve morning, the big kids came over and we had our Christmas. I managed to take just a few photos, I came downstairs just to open presents and then back upstairs to lay down. I made an appointment for the local clinic and tested negative for all the things. So, it was just a nasty virus. After Huxley’s nap, everyone went to my brother-in-laws house for Christmas Eve with Kevin’s side of the family. I stayed home and was super bummed about it. I was looking forward to seeing everyone, but I just felt terrible. Kevin only took three photos! So, there ya go. When they got home, I laid on the couch with Hadley for a little bit before she went up to bed.

Christmas Day and beyond.
Feeling bad off and on during the holidays wasn’t, and still isn’t the most fun thing in the world. It’s been rough trying to play with the kids’ new toys with them, while still feeling a little sluggish. I am so forever grateful for my sweet daughter Hadley, she is just the best with her little brother Huxley. She’s been an absolute angel in helping with him, playing with him, keeping him occupied. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law got Huxley a drum set for Christmas, it was so cute! I think Hadley is loving his toys more than he is right now. Our tree is looking barer as each day passes, Huxley loves to rip off the ornaments, so we keep moving them up higher and higher.

It’s been a great Christmas, and spending time with my kids. Even if we barely leave the house lol

Happy Thursday everyone, have a great week! And as always, thanks for reading!

  1. What a bummer that you got sick for the holidays; that is the worst. I hope you are feeling better now and that no one else come down with it either. It looks like your kids had a great Christmas.
