Recapping our week on the blog! Big room purge, snow day, and the boat show!
Monday January 15
Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which means a day off school for Miss Hadley. Started the morning off with a workout, and then finished up cleaning out Hadley’s room. We had six bags of trash from her room, it amazes me how much stuff kids accumulate and want to keep. Her room looks so much more spacious and not as cluttered.

Tuesday January 16
Started off the day with a workout! It started to lightly snow outside. Hadley constantly amazing me with how much she likes to read. Long story, but every year at the beginning of the school year she picks one day out of the week for her ICEE day. We get an ICEE after school once a week, it gives her something to look forward to each week too. This particular week, we weren’t going to be able to do her ICEE day on Wednesday, so on this day Tuesday, we drove through the Starbucks drive thru and got her new favorite drink Strawberry Cream Frappuccino. I’m all about drive thru’s in the middle of winter, instead of getting out of the car, especially with Huxley in and out of the car seat.

Wednesday January 17
Hadley was super bummed she didn’t have a snow day, but wore her cute new boots to school! Today was a super busy day, and I only took this photo. Had a dentist appointment during lunch duty, so Kevin and Huxley took my place this month. At the dentist appointment, was told I’m going to need a root canal. I’ve had one before, they aren’t too bad at my dentist because he’s awesome. And then, Kevin , Hadley, and Huxley all got haircuts later in the day! Busy busy day.

Thursday January 18
Huxley had eggs and poptarts bites for breakfast. Huxley had fish fillets, grapes, and string cheese for lunch. On library day, Hadley checked out this book and started reading it at school, by 3:30pm after school, she finished the book! Huxley wanted a photo holding her book too. He wants to do everything his big sister does!

Friday January 19
First snow day of the year! We started a new tradition thanks to a fellow blogger Show Me and Sweet Tea, snowman pancakes on a snow day! After breakfast, we geared up and went outside in the snow! It was Huxleys first time playing in the snow. He wasn’t a huge fan, probably because he had no snow boots and was wearing his Hey Dude’s. He lasted about 30 minutes. Hadley on the other hand didn’t want to come inside, she shoveled the entire driveway by herself! When we came inside, we made hot chocolate! Ate lunch in the family room on the ottoman, for a change of scenery.

Saturday January 20
Started the day with a workout! While Kevin slept most of the day, we just hung out around the house. Huxley is so funny wearing Hadley’s fake reading glasses. They are actually blue light glasses she likes to wear sometimes. Once Kevin woke up, we headed to the boat show! It’s fun to see all the new style boats, and the kids love to go in and out of all of the boats too. They always have a playset area for the kids that we have to see for a little bit. Hadley and Huxley were in heaven, switching back and forth from the trampoline to the slide. After the boat show we let Hadley pick the place for dinner, and needless to say she chose Cancun her favorite Mexican restaurant.

Sunday January 21
Huxley loves to lay down with Hadley in any bed! This morning he brought his blanket with him, and just chilled with her on her bed, it was so cute. I worked out in the basement. And then Hadley and I headed to the movies for her first birthday date of the year. You can read more about her birthday dates here. After the movies, Natalie came over to visit for the day. We haven’t seen her since Christmas! While Huxley was still napping, Hadley and I walked over to our neighbors house and dropped off a new baby care package, for the new baby boy! We just hung out and watched some football, and ate dinner.

Love the snow day pancakes! My Hadley doesn’t love to read…so sweet that your Hadley does.
I don’t know where my Hadley gets the love of reading from, because I’m not a huge reader! Thanks for the snowman pancake idea!
I love to read, so I wish she did too. Hayden used to be a big reader but not as much anymore.
Wish we had your amount of snow- I am in New England we got buried recently-can’t wait for it to melt! Cute pancakes and kiddos as always 🙂
It was pretty the snow, and thanks for the kid comment!
That sounds like a wonderful week! Love your snow day pancakes… that is a great tradition to steal and make your own. 🙂
Thank you!
