Recapping our week on the blog! The dentist, movie with Kevin, early dismissal, the emergency room, and some organizing!
Monday January 29
Started the morning with the dentist! Listened to a podcast at the dentist, I tend to listen to true crime podcasts when I’m by myself. After the dentist, got my nails done! Wasn’t a huge fan of the color afterwards, but it’ll do. Kevin and I stayed up and watched The Hill on Netflix, it’s a true story of Rickey Hill, the son of a travelling pastor who overcomes physical obstacles to pursue his dream of playing baseball in the major leagues.
Tuesday January 30
Started the morning with a workout! Hadley had an early dismissal from school, and she starts playing with Huxley as soon as she gets home!
Wednesday January 31
Started the morning with another workout! We hung out in Hadley’s room for a few minutes. Somehow, Huxley always manages to take a screenshot of Kevin facetiming him. I bought Huxley a pilot’s hat, for his upcoming birthday party! We were cracking up at him wearing it! He loves to stand on his stool and play in the sink. I usually let him do it right before dinner, so that way his clothes get a little wet and are only wet for a little while before bath / bedtime!
Thursday February 1
For teacher appreciation day, we got Hadley’s teacher a few things. Teachers do so much for our kids, I love to show them how much we appreciate them. Some think it’s too much, but I disagree! I love doing it. After school drop off, Huxley wanted to go outside so we put on his coat and went to the back deck for a few minutes. Huxley loves to be outside, nonstop. I’m excited for warmer weather, but not excited to chase him around the yard and keep him from the street. When Hadley got home from school, she asked me to time her to see how long it would take her to finish her book. It took her twenty something minutes and she finished the book. She amazes me with how much she reads. I hope she keeps it up! After dinner, Kevin and Hadley tried on Huxley’s pilot hat. Lots of laughing! Kevin and I stayed up and tried to watch the movie Trouble with the Curve, but it wasn’t streaming on anything we have. We searched for another baseball type movie and started Moneyball.
Friday February 2
Today was a crazy day. I have been having stomach pains in my lower stomach area for a few weeks now. I felt a little nauseous and more stomach pains today, so I went to my local emergency room and checked myself in to make sure nothing serious was happening. After a long four hours, everything came back fine! Can’t wait for this bill (haha). The ER doc referred me to a gastro doctor, to see what it could possibly be. No idea, but I’m glad all my blood work and everything came back fine. It was a very mentally exhausting afternoon.
Saturday February 3
After my long afternoon in the emergency room on Friday, I started my Saturday with my favorite depuffing mask and some eye masks! It seriously makes my skin feel amazing! Hadley has been playing with the neighbor boys a lot lately, she’s been having a blast! Huxley loves his books before bedtime, he has his favorites for sure. I’ve been trying to clean the kitchen and do all the dishes before I go to bed, it feels good to wake up to a clean kitchen!
Sunday February 4
Hadley played outside for a few hours with the neighbor boys, they are so cute together. Hadley asks me whether or not she should go down the street and ask them to play or not. This day, the boys knocked on our door and she was so excited. While Huxley napped, I ironed all of Hadley’s uniforms, so they were all ready to go. Hadley wrote out all of her Valentines for her class, they are having their class party. While Hadley played outside, I organized some of the dressers in our room. For bath time, Hadley came upstairs with us, and Huxley was super excited. He loves it when she joins us for bathtime, usually she just chills and has her solo time.

Glad everything turned up okay at the ER! I like doing teacher gifts too; though it’s much harder with high school… I think we made up 18 teacher appreciation cards/gifts last year (so I do something much smaller like a tin of candy or some jelly beans) but the teachers just love it and they do work so hard.
Thank you. I can’t imagine when she gets more teachers the older she gets, but I do love to acknowledge them!
