Recapping the week on the blog! Strep throat, dinner with a friend, flowers, the derby, and softball!
Monday April 29
Started out the week with Hadley not feeling well. It started on Saturday afternoon, so we made a doctor’s appointment Monday morning. She had strep poor kiddo. She felt terrible. After the antibiotics kicked in, she started feeling better super-fast. Huxley and I pretty much stayed away from her room, but it was a little hard for Huxley because all he wanted to do was play with her. I did a YouTube workout after we got home from the doctor. Monday mornings is garbage day, and Huxley loves to watch him. He will stand out there and watch him go to everyone’s house, he gets so excited!

Tuesday April 30
Started out the morning out with a workout. Hadley stayed home again today, she was feeling much better but still not 100% and I’d rather her feel totally herself than make her go back not feeling herself. Huxley and I ate lunch outside on the back deck, it was beautiful out! I try to change things up with him, and not do the same exact thing each day. After Huxley took his afternoon nap, we headed to the firehouse to see Kevin. Hadley was sitting up in her bed watching her iPad, that’s when you know she’s feeling much better. She had three doses of antibiotics in her system by now, so I was okay with getting out of the house with her. Huxley hasn’t been to the firehouse in a while, and oh my goodness is he obsessed. Every time Kevin facetimes him at the firehouse, he never wants to look at him he just wants to see the firetruck and ambulance. So, when we arrived at the actual firehouse, he was the most excited I had seen him in his little two-year-old life. It was cute! We left the firehouse, came home and ate dinner. After dinner we heard our neighbor cutting his grass, and Huxley is obsessed with our neighbor Bill. We went outside, and Bill gave Huxley a ride on his lawn mower, and he was super excited like he was at the firehouse. So fun to watch!

Wednesday May 1
I did not work out today, some days I feel like it doesn’t matter if I do or not. Just feeling like nothing is working right now, but I still keep going. Kevin and Huxley both got a haircut, and then I met a friend for dinner at this new place I’ve been wanting to try. It was called the Wicked Pickle; it gave me vacation vibes for sure. It was nice to catch up and talk! While I was at dinner, Kevin had softball practice with Hadley and took Huxley. It was a nice break to do something without kids since I rarely get to!

Thursday May 2
No workout today since we were going to plant our flowers in the front yard. We went to two different places for flowers, and I’m so happy with the ones we picked! I’m a huge vinca fan, they do so well in our front yard since it’s all sun majority of the day. I’ll share more on the flowers on another post this month! After Hadley got home from school, we did homework, and then Huxley and I ate dinner while Kevin and Hadley went to her softball game for her school. I stayed home with Huxley because he’s a handful at softball games. After all day of being outside in the sun, planting flowers, I was exhausted and not in the mood to wrangle the wild man around.

Friday May 3
Started out my Friday with a workout! Hadley had a late softball game for her select team, so my parents came over to help me out with Huxley. My Mom stayed home and put him to bed, while my dad came with me to watch Hadley play. Kevin was at the firehouse. She wanted to do a new hairstyle for her game, a ponytail with two separate braids and tied together at the end. She saw this hairstyle on a Disney show she’s been watching, it was cute!

Saturday May 4
Today was supposed to be a day full of softball games, but mother nature had other plans. Kevin took Hadley to her first morning game, at first it was delayed and then cancelled due to rain. Hadley got an Icee while they waited for traffic to clear out and then came home. While Huxley took a nap, I watched my cousin’s college graduation online trying to find him. No luck on seeing him, but it was cool how it was streaming on YouTube! Since Hadley’s games got cancelled for the rest of the day, we headed to a derby party. Some of Hadley’s friends were there, it was fun! If you watched the derby, can you believe how close it was? So crazy! After all the rain, and then the sun came out, it was so humid I was sweating! Huxley was in heaven with all the kids and the little outdoor play area.

Sunday May 5
After the rain cancelled the games on Saturday, the tournament director condensed the tournament into one day, all on Sunday. I was a little nervous having Huxley all day at the softball fields, so I asked my parents to help. And thankfully, they could help! I took Huxley to the first game in the morning, and we had enough time to go home, put Huxley down for a nap, Hadley scarfed down a quick lunch, and then we came back to the fields. My mom stayed home while Huxley napped, and my dad came with us to see Hadley play. When Huxley woke up, my mom introduced markers to him, and he loved it! It was a long day, and Hadley loves it so much. She gets so excited to play every time. It was nice to have my dad with me instead of being alone. And even more nice my mom was at home with Huxley, because we didn’t get home until 7:45pm or so. Would have been a very long day with Huxley all by myself. Hadley ended up winning two out of the three games, and I think her team placed fourth out of nine teams? Something like that! And I learned my lesson by not applying sunscreen, because I got burnt!

So sorry Hadley started the week with a strep diagnosis but thank goodness for antibiotics! It looks like your week ended well.
Thank you!
