Weekly Recap.

Recapping the week on the blog! Softball started, back-to-school haircuts, first day of school, cousin sleepover, and a birthday!

Monday August 19
Started our week by going to the zoo! With only two days left of summer break, why not right? Hadley finally got her dream come true of sitting in the back of the train! We have never been first in line at the train, so she was beyond excited! After the zoo, we went to visit Kevin at the firehouse. Huxley is obsessed with firetrucks, he gets in and out of them on repeat, opening and closing the doors all on his own. Once we got home, we ate lunch, Huxley took a nap, Hadley chilled, and I worked out. Hadley had her first softball practice with her new team. Huxley was in heaven running around, and I even got a second workout in by walking the trail at the fields. Before I went to bed, I saw two deer chilling in our backyard which happens quite a few times a week lately!

Tuesday August 20
Worked out in the morning! Pretty much chilled most of the day. Hadley and Huxley had an appointment to get their haircuts. Hadley is trying to grow her hair real long, but wanted a small trim for the first day of school. I bought Hadley a little bracelet for the first day of school, I wear one, and she wears one. The bracelet can be seen here.

Wednesday August 21
First day of fourth grade! Hadley looks so grown up with her braces, she’s really gotten taller, and just growing up so fast! You can read more about the first day of school, and to see more photos by reading this post. I had a surprise visitor during lunch time by Brady, he stopped by on his lunch break to eat because he forgot his wallet. He about scared the living daylights out of me, just opened up the front door and walked in. I had no idea he was coming. Boys lol When Hadley got home from school, she was so so excited! She loves to show us every single piece of paper, every single thing that she did. I hope she continues to be so excited for school! With having no homework on the first day, she immediately went outside to play with her friend. While they were outside playing, I prepped a little picnic dinner for Hadley’s softball practice. I’d much rather the kids eat PBJ than McDonald’s, even though that’s what they would rather have. Luckily, this ballfield had a playground and Huxley was in heaven! A busy first day of school!

Thursday August 22
Huxley had his two and a half year checkup in the morning. I’m not exactly sure why they want to have a half year checkup, but whatever! He’s gotten to be so good at the doctor’s, he remembers the giant fish tank and is obsessed with it every time we walk in. Once we got home, we ate lunch and then I worked out. After Hadley got home from school, we chilled and saw some wild turkeys walking across our backyard. Pretty chill day.

Friday August 23
Worked out in the morning, and cleaned out the office area. I don’t know why, but I like to keep past planners. I have the years 2018 – current. So if you ever want to know what happened in 2018 with us, I can tell ya haha! We dropped Hadley off to her grandparents, for a cousin sleepover / Kings Island trip. They went out to eat at Sonic before going back to their grandparents to spend the night. Huxley and I played outside for a little bit, brought his remote control firetruck outside and he loved it.

Saturday August 24
So weird waking up to Hadley not being at home! I did my favorite morning face routine, a face mask cream with under eye masks. After my face stuff, did a workout. Huxley and I went outside to organize the aftermath of the garage sale, I organized things into piles of things to try and sell on Facebook Marketplace, and things to donate to Goodwill. My mom sent pictures of Hadley and her cousins on their way to Kings Island, they went to the waterpark, and then the amusement park. Kevin had a work detail at night. Huxley and I went to the pool just him and I, we had fun! My parents dropped Hadley off after dinner, and then we went up to bed and she was out! We had more deer hanging out in our yard at night, and a tow truck that was towing a weird car we didn’t know parked outside of our driveway on the wrong side of the street. Our township doesn’t mess around!

Sunday August 25
Worked out in the morning, while Kevin cut the grass. Huxley loves to be outside watching his dad cut the grass. Went over to a friends pool party for their son’s birthday! It was a great hot day for swimming in the pool, the kids had fun! Hadley and her cousins were trying to tell me how to take photos of them to make it look like they are walking on water. I didn’t do too bad at taking their pics! Brady and his girlfriend came back to our house to eat dinner, it was nice to hangout!

  1. You had a full week! Braces do make kids look older. They get them much earlier now which is nice. Braces in high school are no fun. I keep old planners too. For some reason they’re hard to let go of. Temps here have finally dropped below ridiculous so I’m back to walking. Have a nice week!

    1. Thank you Joyce! I can’t seem to wrap my head around the braces at such a young age, but I guess it is what it is now! She’ll have really straight teeth now!

  2. Such a fun week! Huxley’s “cuter version of dad” shirt made me smile. That’s adorable. Hadley does look like she’s grown a lot and her face is definitely getting that more mature look too (probably brought on by the braces!). I hope she never tires of learning and is always that excited about school too! That is the sign of a great school for sure.
