Monday December 09
The elves climbed up a wall of bows and got stuck! Christmas spirit week at work, each day was a theme. Monday was wear a Christmas headband, you can’t really see mine but it was red and had Santa’s all over it. Got a new sign for my office door, and I love it! Hadley served at church for the first time and was so excited. My dad was able to go and watch her since it was a school mass during the work day. Worked out when I got home from work.
Tuesday December 10
The elves brought apple watches! Hah! Hadley laughed at this one. We had secret “elves” at work, and my elf brought me a cute Christmas mug with chocolates and pistachios! Today’s Christmas spirit week theme was dress like a present, I just wore a festive sweater and red shoes! Worked out when I got home. And then went to a Christmas cocktail event at my high school. It was an interesting night, but good to catch up with some friends. I was glad to get out of the house alone for a few hours!
Wednesday December 11
The elves decided to hangout by the tiny houses in the bathroom, and loved the mini candy canes Hadley made for them. I found a door prize ticket in my purse from the Christmas cocktail event the next day, I think I was supposed to turn it in somewhere? I stayed home from work today with Huxley, he had a tiny fever the night before so I thought a day at home to chill and take a good nap in his own bed was what he needed. Worked out during naptime. My bonus daughter Natalie decided she wanted to take her bed from our house, and move it into her mom’s new house. So her boyfriend and friend came over to pick it up this night. Looks so weird in her room!
Thursday December 12
The elves brought Jimmy Fallon’s book 5 More Sleeps ‘Til Christmas! We have the Halloween book and have been wanting the Christmas one. They are such cute books, the graphic artist in me loves the illustrations! Today’s Christmas spirit week theme was ugly Christmas sweater! I don’t have one of those ugly sweaters, so I wore my comfy pajama hoodie top with leggings! My secret elf at work got me the cutest gift today, a candle that smells like the beach, and a little Christmas countdown thing. It’ll be cute to use that in my office each year! Huxley watched the Polar Express movie for the first time and was obsessed because it’s all about a train! He kept saying the choo choo movie! Huxley wore his new Christmas pajamas from Grandma to bed, and slept on his Christmas bedsheets.
Friday December 13
The elves brought candy canes for the tree, they placed them all over. Today’s Christmas spirit theme was to wear red / green for Grinch day. I don’t have a Grinch top, so I wore my green and red Griswold Tree Farm sweatshirt. I attended a piano recital for one of the classes in the auditorium, it was so fun to watch! I used to play piano in grade school, I had recitals and everything! Hadley had her softball team’s Christmas party, so I stayed home with Huxley since it didn’t start until 7pm. I started wrapping gifts after Huxley went to bed. Hadley loves her softball team, they all get along so well together! And the parents aren’t so bad either!
Saturday December 14
Worked out in the morning. And then we went to Cookies with Santa with the fire department. Huxley must be going through a growth spurt or something because he is super cranky so much especially when we are out in public. We made the best of it, and I try so hard to make it fun for Hadley even though I’m chasing Huxley around the entire time. We took a picture with Santa on the fire truck, and played same games. It was cute! We went home and had Huxley nap. When he woke up from his nap, we colored for a little bit and then headed to the firehouse where Kevin was working at this night. When we get to the firehouse, of course Huxley is an angel. I swear it’s just when he’s with me! The engine Kevin was on, was taking a Santa down the street about two blocks to an event. Hadley and Huxley were able to ride in the fire engine to take the Santa! Huxley sat in the front seat with Kevin, and Hadley sat in the back with the firemen. They were in heaven! After we got home, and put Huxley to bed Hadley and I had a little movie night. We watched Home Alone 2! I had some goodies for her, and she made her own ice cream toppings by chopping up some Hershey Kisses! We were both pooped from all the festivities from the day, we managed to watch almost the whole movie until she started dozing on and off on the couch.
Sunday December 15
The elves brought a Christmas whisk! Worked out in the morning. Huxley put his little blanket on the floor, lined up his trucks and was playing calmly! Hadley had a volleyball game, she played the other team in her grade so it was fun to see them all play against each other. Our team won all three sets! Huxley was playing with my phone, and the picture he took of Kevin and I cracked me up.
