Weekly Recap.

Recapping the week on the blog today. More Elf on the shelf shenanigans, workouts, Christmas spirit week at Huxleys school, festival of lights at the zoo, Christmas parties, and cookies! Linking up with Holly and Sarah! Here is the recap…

Monday December 16
The elves climbed into the stockings! Worked out after work. Kevin took Hadley to softball. Huxley and I ate dinner by the Christmas tree, and he was in such a great mood! I had to take a photo for proof haha! When Hadley got home from softball practice, her coaches gave her this giant blanket that had her name on it with a softball player. Isn’t that so nice?

Tuesday December 17
The elves were in the fridge, covered up in a Christmas towel. The amount of times we opened the fridge doors this day to look at them was a ton, they loved this one. The whole school wore red today, to honor a senior that ended his life at a local all boys high school. Their colors are red, so so sad. Worked out after work. Hadley was doing her homework, and I just happened to notice #19 on this stocking she was working on. It was a religion project, and had to write in things she was thankful for. My cousin’s husband Will is in the Army and she wrote his name on the list. It was too sweet! Before dinner, it was a little warmer than usual so the kids played outside. I was making dinner inside, and Hadley is just the best sister. She volunteered to take Huxley outside and watch him, and he was so good for her!

Wednesday December 18
The elves hung out in Hadley’s little Christmas tree in her room. Huxley had managed to knock them off before school, so Hadley ran downstairs and got the “magic” gloves that she can wear to touch him if need be. Huxley could wear a Christmas hat for his school this week, I bought him this cute Christmas tree beanie hat but he didn’t want to wear it. Hadley had to serve at all school mass again, and Kevin was able to go and watch her! Now that I’m working, I’m missing all of those things! And then after church, Kevin worked lunch duty for me! I signed up for like five times out of the entire year, and now that I’m working (yes I said it again, sorry), I’m unable to do lunch duty! I’m glad he was able to do all of those things for me. And Hadley loves it too! After school, we went to the Festival of Lights at the zoo! It was the perfect night, it wasn’t too terribly crowded and not super freezing either. I mean it was cold, but it was bearable! Huxley loves the train, and Hadley just loves the zoo period. I always say this, but no matter how old you are the zoo during Christmas time with all the lights is just magical.

Thursday December 19
The elves were in the kids’ bathroom window sill. I was running out of creative ideas at this point. A few of the drama students put on a short holiday skit, it’s fun to watch those things. Worked out when I got home from work. Hadley had a makeup volleyball game, and then the whole team went to Graeters for ice cream afterwards to celebrate the end of the season.

Friday December 20
Huxley wore Christmas pajamas to school today, they were going to watch the Polar Express and have a jammie day! The elves brought some paper to write letters to Santa, and a cute door knob hanger for Santa. Kevin went to Hadley’s school Christmas party, since I’m a room mom but yet again, am working now! The pictures he took were just awesome haha The kids played games and had pizza for lunch. I had my work Christmas lunch, and then one of the teachers had an after party at her house. I’m glad I went, and got to talk to some of the people I wouldn’t normally get a chance to talk to.

Saturday December 21
The elves brought some fun Christmas cups for the Christmas party tonight! Hadley and I were able to slip away and get our nails done for Christmas! We’ve been doing Christmas nails for a few years now, it always makes the Christmas Bucket List. We had Kevin’s unit at the fire department over for a little Christmas party. We had some yummy snacks, a nice meal, and festive sweets! Hadley and Arabella loved the crafts. I failed to get one photo of Huxley! He stayed up later than normal, but had so much fun!

Sunday December 22
The elves wanted to bake cookies today! So we dove right in! We made three kinds of cookies, cream cheese Christmas sprinkle cookies, peanut butter balls aka buckeyes, and sugar cookies! We didn’t get to decorate the sugar cookies, but plan to this week hopefully!

After Huxley’s nap, we headed to see Santa! This is the best Santa around, he has live reindeer outside, and all these festive things for the kids to look at while they are waiting in line. I was so surprised, Huxley did not cry at all! He talked to him, and got so excited to tell him he wants a big choo choo train for Christmas. He couldn’t understand that he wasn’t getting the train right then and there. While Hadley was talking to Santa, Huxley was literally jumping up and down excited. It was so cute! Hadley told Santa she wanted skincare and Uggs. Santa said so many young ladies are asking for Uggs and he’s going to have an expensive trip in a few days. I laughed and said a ten year old isn’t getting Uggs! After they each talked to him, he stamped their hands and gave them a candy cane. He is seriously the best! He takes his time to talk to each kid, and says the best things to them!

After Santa, we went out to dinner. Kevin ended up joining us after his work detail, and then he took the kids to get new gym shoes while I ran home and knocked out some wrapping.
