Weekly Recap.

Recapping the week on the blog today. St. Patrick’s Day, a day off, playing outside, and more. Linking up with Holly and Sarah! Here is the recap…

Monday March 17
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Hadley was off school for reaching her walk-a-thon goal. I left her a few things to do during the day. Huxley wearing all green for the day. I made pistachio bread and brought it into work, everyone loved it. I love making that bread, it’s so easy! Hadley made me a book she colored, and wrote the cutest little note. Huxley and I played outside a little bit while Hadley was at softball with Kevin. After Huxley was in bed, and Kevin and Hadley got home from softball, Hadley and I did a little St. Patrick’s Day trivia, had to google most of them haha!

Tuesday March 18
Hadley was off school again for teacher in-service. Kevin took Hadley to Sephora and Kohl’s as a little surprise. She is the best kiddo and deserves a little treat every now and then. She picked out a Summer Fridays moisturizer, and some fake Uggs. I just can’t fathom the idea of buying my ten-year-old real Uggs when she’ll outgrown them in a year! She was a happy girl. After work, I picked up Huxley and took him to a park to walk. After we walked, he went to the bathroom on the big boy potty, and then we played on the playground. It was a beautiful day!

Wednesday March 19
Worked out after work. Played outside for a little bit. And then we filled out our brackets. We do a simple thing with the brackets; we highlight how many wins we got and then the one with the least amount of wins has to cook dinner!

Thursday March 20
I was off work today! I had a few days at work where I had to attend meetings and retreats, so I was going to be way over my normal hours I work so I picked Thursday as a day off! After I worked out, I got all ready and headed to the DMV to get my driver’s license renewed. It was only a five-minute wait if that! After I got my license renewed, I headed to a local coffee shop to use my gift card and try their chai tea. It was delicious! I dropped off a box of clothes to Goodwill and then went to Old Navy and TJ Maxx. It was nice to have a day to myself and do a little shopping.

Friday March 21
Employee retreat day at work. Our group went to St. Vincent de Paul to volunteer. We helped the neighbors as they call them shop at the food pantry. It was definitely an eye-opening experience and makes you grateful for all that you have. Kevin and I want our kids to volunteer there one day to see what other ways of life can look like. After our volunteer morning was over, I stopped at a local fish place to get a fish log for lunch. After lunch, headed back to work, and then we had a little prayer service afterwards. After work, Kevin and I had a date night planned. One of his friends on the fire department was turning thirty, and his fiancée was having a surprise party at a brewery. On our way to the brewery, there was a big accident on the highway. All of these cars started driving on the emergency lane to try and get around all the traffic. And then, a police officer tried to drive through and couldn’t because they were all blocking the side lane. He got out of his car and gave them all tickets! It was awesome! Don’t drive on the emergency lane people!

Saturday March 22
Kevin took Hadley to softball in the morning. I did some cleaning and laundry. After Huxleys nap, went outside to play. Huxley was cracking us up, wearing swim goggles outside! We ate dinner on the tv trays, and watched Home Alone! Huxley loved the movie and was so interested in it! Went back outside for a little bit, and because he had his goggles on he tripped on his own feet and fell. He scraped his little mouth. Hadley gave him one of her “special” popsicles to calm him down, and he was in heaven.

Sunday March 23
Hadley asked if she could take the garbage cans to the end of the driveway, ummm yes!!! So she took Huxley with her, and they wheeled both cans down. Garbage day is Monday morning. We got ready for church, and I was a little nervous taking Huxley without Kevin. We went last Sunday with Huxley, but Kevin was with us, and Hadley had to serve. Huxley is a different kid when dads around. So we went to church, packed all the snacks, all the toys, and he was okay. Not the greatest behavior, not the worst, just ok. When Huxley took a nap, Hadley and I played a board game. She loves games! After Huxley woke up from his nap, they made a little fort. Huxley loved it at first, but then lost interest. Hadley found a new show she likes on Netflix, it’s called The Greenhouse Academy, she likes it but says it has some scary parts. We ate dinner on the floor by the couch, sometimes the tv trays are a bit much with the kids. Huxley took a bath, and then bed. And then Hadley took a shower and then bed. I stayed up for a little bit, and then hit the sheets myself!

  1. I haven’t even bought myself real Uggs! LOL. I was always like that with my kids too; the expense of name brand shoes and clothes when they were going to outgrown them in no time just didn’t make sense to me. Luckily, they couldn’t have cared less. Yay for a quick DMV time; that so rarely happens. It sounds like a wonderful week.

  2. Awww what a special treat for Hadley- and right there with you with the fake Uggs- yes! My parents volunteer with St Vincent de Paul- what a wonderful organization 🙂
