Recapping the week on the blog today! Hadley’s class party, haircut for Huxley, last day of school for Hadley, and a two-day softball tournament. Linking up with Holly and Sarah! Here is the recap…
Monday May 19
My plants are growing at work! Picked up Hadley at school, then worked out at home. I forgot my wallet in the car, so I couldn’t get Hadley her Monday ICEE after school. So, on the way to softball practice, we stopped by Starbucks and got her an acai lemonade, and Huxley a cake pop.
Tuesday May 20
Hadleys class did a fun glow in the dark science project in the morning. In the afternoon she had her class party at school! Kevin was able to go and volunteer. He brought our giant Jenga, but it doesn’t work the greatest so we’re going to pitch it. It rained all day, so they had to move everything inside. They came up with some fun games for the kids. Worked out after work! Went to dinner at Cancun, and then a haircut for Huxley. We had a little bit of time before the haircut, so we got a car wash and hung out outside the salon before Huxley’s appointment.
Wednesday May 21
My hair girl always gives Huxley her son’s clothes and shoes that he can no longer wear. She gave us rain boots, and Huxley wouldn’t take them off! He wore them to school the next morning. On the way to take Hadley to school, the house across the street dressed up the skeletons in a school uniform for their last week of school! Worked out after work!
Thursday May 22
Happy last day of school for Hadley! She looks so grown up from the picture of the first day of school. She had an awards ceremony first thing in the morning, and she was recognized for serving at church this year, and she received the Kind in Christlike award! She was so excited! Hadley’s school got out at 11am, and some of the girls in her class went to see a movie. I picked her up at the movies, and then we stopped at a coffee shop, and I got my favorite chai tea, and she tried their smoothie! Hadley wanted to go to the library and get some books for the summer, I was shocked, but it was awesome, so we went! When we got home, the kids saw their fun little basket of a few fun things to celebrate the last day of school!
Friday May 23
First day of summer for Hadley and she wakes up early haha! I was getting ready for work, and she climbed into our bed. My work had an end of the year party, it was a fun time to celebrate the teachers’ last day of school. After work, Kevin and I went to see Natalie graduate high school.
Saturday May 24
Softball tournament for Hadley! She played on turf which is always fun for the team. Huxley was able to take a nap at my parents’ house, since the fields were closer to their house than ours. Kevin had to work both days this weekend, so being solo at softball tournaments with Huxley is always a little extra work. Thankful my parents can help me out! After the pool play games, her team was the #1 seed going into bracket play on Sunday!
Sunday May 25
Day two of the softball tournament! The girls were watching the older girls play while they waited for the game on their field to get over. Her team won the first game of bracket play to move on to the championship game! Huxley was at my parents’ house taking another nap, and then they came for the second game and brought Huxley. The second game was so awesome! It started out rough, but they were abe to pull it off! The score was 7-6, we were losing with not much time left on the clock, and then Hadley hit a three-run double and then after she scored, we won 10-7!!! It was so great to watch! Hadley was so happy! The coach gave her a big hug after her hit! Ring #5! We need a ring holder! Huxley was having fun running on the field while the team took their pictures. After the game, we went to dinner to celebrate the big win!
It was a holiday weekend of nothing but softball, but watching Hadley do what she loves makes it all worth it. It was a great weekend; she played great and it’s so awesome to watch your kid have fun at a sport she loves. I think Kevin and I watched her 3-run hit video about a hundred times!

Such a fun recap! Hadley’s last day of school fun is awesome…including wanting to go to the library 🙂 Huxley wearing the boots reminds Hayden. He went through a phase of wearing some rain boots that he loved when he was 3 or 4. Haha congrats to Hadley’s softball team and her for her award. How sweet!
