Weekly Recap.

Recapping the week on the blog today! Fishing at the pool, swimming at the pool, show and tell, water day, and a softball tournament. Linking up with Holly and Sarah! Here is the recap…

Monday June 23.
Woke up with a puffy right eye! WTH? It was the weirdest thing. The under eye didn’t hurt at all, but it was a little uncomfortable feeling, like I could see the puffiness just looking straight. On FaceBook, I saw this image about how to take lots of PTO days by utilizing holidays. Awesome right?

Worked out for 20 minutes after work. And took Hadley to softball practice. Poor thing had to practice in 95 degree weather! I get it though, they only practice once a week and have another tournament this coming weekend. Hadley brought extra fluids, two gatorades, two bottles of water, bag of ice, and her sweat rags in addition to her giant water jug. Oh, and plus our new Ryobi fan!

On the way home from softball, Huxley and I got a car wash. My van gets soo dirty after a weekend full of driving at the ballfields. Huxley kept saying his belly hurt since he got home from daycare. He barely ate dinner, but eventually ate a PB&J sandwich, and some yogurt.

Tuesday June 24.
Kevin’s first day as an official driver on the fire department! Moved my booty for 50 minutes after work! Did a YouTube workout and then vacuumed the house! I was sweating! Brady took Hadley up to the swim club to fish and go swimming for a little bit.

Wednesday June 25.
Huxley had show and tell day at school! He brought his garbage truck! So cute him smiling. Looks like he was talking about it and everything! And then it looks like painting later in the day. After I got off work, we decided to go to the pool! My mom was still at the house, after she takes Hadley to swim team practice, she’ll hangout with Hadley for a little bit. So my mom decided to go to the pool with us! It was a fun quick trip to the pool, to cool off in this heat. Hadleys softball team had her in the graphic for the tournament!

Kevin took Hadley up to the swim club to do more fishing and swimming. She caught quite a few fish! She loves to fish! I watched the movie Nonna’s on Netflix, it was so cute!

Thursday June 26.
Worked out after work, did a YouYube walking video. Hadley had a swim meet. The swimmers were able to do their warmups, but never started the meet. It started thundering. Meanwhile, Kevin was working the grill and Hadley was helping out. Hadley and Huxley playing on the slide while we waited for them to call it or not. They ended up not swimming.

Friday June 27.
On my way to work I stopped at Starbucks and got my favorite chai tea latte! The barista wrote a cute saying “happy Fri-yay!” Huxley had water day at daycare! Looks like they had fun! Kevin picked him up before nap, so he could take a good nap at home.

I got home from work and started packing for Indiana. Hadley had a softball tournament there, we got a hotel for two nights. There’s always a possibility she’ll have games on Friday, but she didn’t for this one. Her first game was Saturday morning at 9:30am, it was best we got the hotel anyway since it’s about a 2 hour drive from Cincinnati.

Huxley woke up from his nap at home, and then we finished getting ready and loaded up the van and headed to Indiana. The kids love staying at hotels. Hadley and Huxley swam for a little bit in the indoor pool, it was very strong smelling of chlorine. Some of the girls’ eyes were burning it was so strong. After just a short time of swimming, the team wanted to go to dinner. We went to a Mexican restaurant that you could walk to.

Huxley didn’t sleep the greatest, and neither did I or Hadley. Kevin and Hadley came into the room around 9:45pm after the team had a pin / bead making party in the lobby. Kevin is like a bull in a china cabinet when it’s time to be quiet, so he came in and dropped things and made noises and Huxley was up in a second. I don’t think he was truly asleep yet. Hadley slept with Huxley, and all he wanted to do was play. It took him awhile to fall asleep. And I don’t sleep good at all anyway, unless it’s kinda quiet.

Saturday June 28.
Saturday morning, first game of the tournament! It was a hot one! Everyone had their tents all set up! The misting fans came in super handy, kept everyone cool. Had a little bit of a thunderstorm delay in the middle of the day, the girls were playing their own pretend game.

The team played three games:
Game #1 – lost 5-8
Game #2 – won 10-5
Game #3 – lost 3-4

After the games, the whole team went out to dinner. We had a party of 30! Poor Huxley fell asleep in the fifteen-minute car ride to the restaurant. Kevin sat in the car with Huxley while we waited for the tables to be ready. It was a long dinner, about two and a half hours. Went back to the hotel, Kevin went down to the pool with Hadley with her friends and other parents. I stayed in the hotel room with Huxley. He took a shower for the first time! It was a super quick one, but he did it! Our only choice since most hotels don’t have bathtubs anymore.

Sunday June 29.
Huxley slept great! Kevin slept with him, and Hadley slept with me. Those sleeping arrangements worked out way better! He woke up and watched the old Tom and Jerry cartoon. He was loving it! One of the parents took Hadley to the fields since they arrive an hour early to warm up. We ate a quick breakfast with Huxley and then headed on our way to the fields.

This was the longest day, they played five games:
Game #1 – lost 5-6
Game #2 – won 15-2
Game #3 – won 6-5
Game #4 – won 11-10
Game #5 – lost 8-12

The girls played so good! Everyone was hitting, and fielding great. Our poor pitchers were just shot, they worked so hard and were tired. Huxley was an absolute trooper, I can’t believe he lasted as long as he did. It was a great long weekend, and I just love this team. The coaches, the parents, and most of all, the girls are all just great. The girls came in second place!
