Happy Monday! I just can’t seem to get into the blogging grove here lately, but I’m trying! Let’s start out with recapping last week on the blog today! Softball friend sleepover, haircuts, last day of work, and the start of vacation! Linking up with Holly and Sarah! Here is the recap…
Monday August 4.
I woke up with the snake thingy that you clean toilets with wrapped up in my hair towel? I mean, who does that? So weird. I even took a photo of it and text it to my husband like did I really just do this? My office at work is just a mess. I need another piece of furniture and I think I’ll be okay. I have little odds and ends that need a place, hidden away to live. Kevin was home to take Hadley to softball practice. Huxley and I ate dinner outside on the back deck. He’s been loving having dinner out there lately. He had a spiderman popsicle before we went upstairs to take a bath and get ready for bed. Hadley had one of her softball teammates spend the night after practice, since the next morning they were both going to catching clinic.

Tuesday August 5.
We all go to my hair girl for haircuts. Kevin, Hadley, and Huxley all got haircuts before we leave for vacation this week! After the haircuts, Kevin took Huxley home to go to bed and Hadley and I stopped for ice cream.

Wednesday August 6.
Last day of work before vacation, and it was a busy one! I had my first new hire orientation, and had to do a presentation to the new employees. In some places, my work does not have air conditioning and I had to make a few trips from my office to the room I was presenting in and I got all sweaty! The first photo is me before I started sweating, and the second photo is me sweating looking like a hot mess. Oh well, the presentation went great! When I got home from work, I gave the flowers a good drink. And then started packing. I got the kids some new things for the airplane.

Thursday August 7.
Vacation time! Here is Kevin and Huxley on the airport shuttle, Huxley is just as happy as can be. We all had our own luggage, the kids did great with it. We checked my big bag, and a medium sized suitcase. On the way to Florida, we had four seats in the same row but one seat was by itself. Hadley willingly chose the single seat by herself. She is such a independent young lady, and I love it! Huxley did great on the flight! I was worried about his ears bothering him, but he was amazing! He played with toys, looked out the window, and closed the window a million times, and watched his iPad off and on. It was a short two hour flight, and it went really fast. We asked my parents to join us on vacation this year, and their seats were in the front of the plane. Once we arrived to the condo, we unpacked a little bit, and everyone just chilled for a little bit.

Friday August 8.
Went on a walk first thing in the morning! I always try to move my body everyday on vacation (and at home), and it’s my time alone, even if it’s just for twenty minutes! Huxley was sitting at the little bar area in the kitchen eating his cereal and milk. Made lunches for the beach, PB&J for the kids, lunch meat for Kevin and I. Huxley loved playing with the sand toys, and even got in the ocean. The water was so calm, and crystal clear. I love it when you can see pretty far down! After a day at the beach, we came back up to the condo and got ready to go out to eat. While we were eating, the power went out in the restaurant! Only for a few minutes but it was kinda freaky.

Saturday August 9.
Walked on the beach, it was super cloudy but always nice to walk next to the ocean. We randomly decided to head out to find this coffee place my mom wanted to try. It was so crowded, their was no parking! So we drove around and found a different coffee place. My mom got a spiked coffee, my dad hot chocolate, I got a dirty chai tea latte, Hadley got a frozen strawberry lemonade, and Huxley got a milk in a coffee cup! It was a cute place. We walked across the street and got a few t-shirts. We all went as is, well Huxley and I did. I went sweaty in my workout clothes, and Huxley stayed in his jammies. By the time we got back to the condo, it was time for lunch and then Huxley to take a nap. My mom, Hadley and I went to the beach and set up the tent all on our own. I was pretty proud of myself! We just chilled on the beach! When Huxley woke up, we went to the pool and hung out. We stayed in for dinner and grilled steaks. After Huxley went to bed, we played a few rounds of Uno!

Sunday August 10.
My mom walked on the beach with me, another cloudy day. Huxley loves the sand toys, we tried to build a few sand castles or things that look like a castle. We rented a golf cart, and it was so fun. Before lunch time, we drove around for a little bit. The kids loved it! We went out for dinner, it was a long wait. The kids were super patient. The restaurant had fun things for the kids to do while we waited. We drove there on the golf cart, and then rode around some more in the dark and checked out the island!
