I’m joining Joyce for this week’s Wednesday Hodgepodge! Each week she posts questions to answer and share with others. It’s a fun little prompt, and I am glad to be participating.

1. What’s something recent that had you ‘tickled pink’?
One day last week, after picking up Huxley from school, I get him buckled up in his car seat and we start heading home and he out of the blue says, “Mom, I love you.” Oh my goodness, I melted. It was the sweetest thing!
2. A bed of roses, everything’s coming up roses, every rose has it’s thorn, stop and smell the roses, rose-colored glasses, a rose among thorns…which rosy expression might currently be applied to your life in some way? Stop and smell the roses would be the best rosy expression best applied to my life right now. We’ve had some bouts of sickness going through our house, first the husband, kids, and then me. Nothing crazy, just bad viral infections. In the midst of all the sickness, their are always times when things seem brighter I guess? Just praying for spring and warmer weather and sunshine!
3. What makes you feel loved and appreciated? Acts of service for sure!
4. A box of chocolates or a bouquet of fresh flowers-what’s your pleasure? Any special plans for Valentine’s Day? Flowers are always so pretty, my favorites are purple roses! I wouldn’t turn down a box of chocolates though, I am a sucker for sweets. No plans for Valentines Day, Kevin works but I might do some fun things for the kids at home.
5. Share a favorite quote, scripture, or song lyric relating to love.

A great quote by Maya Angelou.
6. Insert your own random thought here. l want to be able to look online / social media / anywhere really and not see anything related to crazy awful world news. It’s so depressing.

Aww! Huxley sounds like such a sweetheart! I hope you are all feeling better soon.
Those unprompted I love yous are so special. I have to keep the news to a minimum. I want to be aware but not overwhelmed by it all. It’s a challenge. Enjoy a fun weekend with your kiddos!
