I’m joining Joyce for this week’s Wednesday Hodgepodge! Each week she posts questions to answer and share with others. It’s a fun little prompt, and I am glad to be participating.

1. How would you define ‘the good life’?
What a hard question to answer! I think the good life is whatever makes you happy. Right now for me, the good life is having a happy husband, happy kids, and being content with life. My husband and I both have a good job that can provide for our family, both of our kids are such good kids, and we are all healthy and living life to the fullest the best way we can.
2. What’s the most used app on your phone (and are you proud of that)?
Hmmm, this was a tricky one for me. I love Instagram over Facebook for social media, so I would say Instagram is my most used app socially. And the other app I use the most is probably the camera app! I love to take photos everyday of life!
3. ‘Every rose has it’s thorn’, ‘everything’s coming up roses’, ‘looking through rose-colored glasses’, ‘it’s no bed of roses’ or ‘stop and smell the roses’…which rose idiom best relates to something in your life currently.
Stop and smell the roses would be the best rose idiom. I like to literally think of many moments in everyday life, and think how lucky I am to be of sound mind and to have my family. When life gets to be super busy, or the kids aren’t behaving the best, I always stop and think something to myself like, I’m going to miss this so much when the kids get older. Or I’m so lucky to be of sound mind to know that sometimes things can test my patience, but I have the common sense to take a second and realize, this moment will pass. Sounds kind of deep, but that’s how I think!
4. How do you feel about floral flavorings in food or drink (rose, hibiscus, elderflower, lavender)?
Sounds gross! I love the scent of lavender, but not in food or drink? So no, I don’t like any floral flavorings in food or drink.
5. Over the course of your life what have you probably spent more time pondering than anything else?
What would happen if I died? Would my husband remember to wash the kids beds sheets, or have them take their vitamins? I worry about little things like that too much.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Just happy to take the time to write this blog post. I have been slacking big time on blogging, just can’t find the time lately! Wednesday Hodgepodge is always a fun one, I love to think about the weekly questions!

I thought the first question was hard to answer too! Fantastic answer.
I would say Instagram is my 2nd most used app.
The kids grow up so fast, mine have and I am stopping and smelling the roses a lot.
sounds like you are living the good life and part of that is taking the time to smell the roses’.
I have sometimes spent time wondering about what would everyone do if something happened to me. Usually that’s not a good mental place for me to be, so I try to move on from it pretty quickly! Definitely worth thinking about as far as getting my will made and all of that, I guess.
Hope you’re having a great week!
It’s been super busy here too so I’m writing when I can and giving myself grace when I can’t. I have been more slack in reading what others are saying but trying to catch up some now. A long time ago I read something a wise woman wrote that said when she felt irritated with her family (her husband or her kids) she tried to pause and say a prayer of how grateful she was to have these people in her life who make messes, need meals, leave dishes for me to wash, etc. It has helped me see life’s daily annoyances in a rosier light. Have a great day!
