Recapping the week on the blog! Spring break, and no softball.
Monday April 1
We started Hadleys spring break on Sunday by going to the Reds game on Easter. You can read more about that in last week’s recap. I made a little calendar for the week. The weather put a little damper in some of our plans, so we adjusted. For Monday, we went to breakfast at a diner, it was really good and such a cute place! After the diner, we stopped at the library and Hadley did the scavenger hunt they have there every month. For finishing the scavenger hunt, she gets to pick something out of a prize box. We headed home, ate lunch, and Huxley went down for a nap. While we all chilled, Hadley’s godmother dropped off a little Easter goodie basket, it was so sweet! When Huxley woke up, we went to the trampoline park. Hadley begs and begs to go to a trampoline park all the time. So, she was in heaven. And Huxley did so well compared to last time, he was actually jumping like you should. Went to dinner on the way home. And then watched the Iowa game before bed.

Tuesday April 2
Worked out in the morning, and then Kevin and I cleaned out the garage. We filled out an entire garbage can of things and cleared out so much! Hadley and I were supposed to go to a college softball game in the evening, but it poured down rain all day, so the game got cancelled. Hadley was bummed but we just hung out at home all day. After Huxley went to bed, we played a board game and then went to bed.

Wednesday April 3
Kevin ended up going into work this day for overtime. It’s hard to turn down overtime, so he took it. Worked out in the morning, and then we ventured out to a mall. I don’t know why it feels so weird saying that, but there aren’t many malls around anymore that are decent. We went to a mall that had barely any stores, it was a little creepy feeling walking around a huge mall with hardly any stores open. The only place we bought something at was Bath ‘n Body Works! Before we left the mall, we let the wildman Huxley out of his stroller and ride a school bus! He loved it, he rode it twice. Best $2.00 of fun I spent! After the mall, we went to Ulta and I have to say it was our first time going into that store. Hadley knew more of the products than I did from watching YouTube! On the way home, went through Chick-fil-a’s drive-thru for dinner, and then watched Beethoven before bed. Huxley loved watching the dog!

Thursday April 4
Started my Thursday by working out in my Christmas pajama pants! I might look ridiculous, but I don’t care because I moved my booty! We went to a local smoothie place that had story time in the morning. Huxley loved the smoothies, he drank almost all of his half, plus Hadley’s half. Hadley was such a good sport and entertained herself with the little ones running around. Came home to eat lunch, and then before Huxley took a nap, we put the new crib covers on his bed in hopes it would stop him from eating the rails! After Huxley’s nap, and Kevin woke up from sleeping after a shift at the firehouse, we all headed to Indiana to pick up Hadley’s select softball uniforms. We ate dinner at Willie’s on the lake and stopped for dessert to go. Hadley tried her uniform pants on when she got home, and they were a tad big!

Friday April 5
Huxley looking out his window waiting for the garbage truck to drive by. He’s obsessed with garbage trucks. We went to Jungle Jim’s with all of us! Kevin had never been before, it’s a huge grocery store that has all kinds of foods from all different countries. We stopped at Frisch’s for lunch on the way home and found out that Hadley’s softball games had been cancelled for the entire weekend. My parents had offered to watch the kids before they knew she had any games, so we took advantage of the offer and had a date night. We literally never have date nights! Kevin works a ton, and it’s really hard to do date nights. So, we dropped off the kiddos at my parents and headed back home to get ready. Kevin cut the grass while I hopped in the shower. We went to a country bar that had Frank Ray playing, it was a cool place, and the live music was awesome! Since Kevin had to work at the firehouse the next day, we headed home a little early and finished watching the Iowa game at home with some popcorn. It was a great night out together, and we both said we need to do it more often.

Saturday April 6
Kevin left for the firehouse super early, and I ended up sleeping in and it was glorious! I don’t think I got out of bed until 9am, I didn’t know what to do with myself. I had all these plans in my mind of what I was going to do without the kids being there, but I ended up just cleaning the house and doing stuff there instead of going out and spending money shopping. Hadley stayed up pretty late at my parents, for her, so she was pooped and fell asleep within seconds.

Sunday April 7
Had a slow start to the morning. We ended up leaving to go pick up some solar eclipse cookies I had ordered for Monday. Hadley tried a milkshake, I had a chai tea, and Huxley just had his water but sipped on Hadley’s milkshake quite a few times. It was a cute little coffee shop. Watched the Iowa game, and what a bummer! I don’t know why, but Kevin and I both loved to watch Kaitlin Clark make history with her massive three pointers, and just how exciting it was to watch women’s basketball. After Huxley went to bed, Hadley and I printed some eclipse coloring pages and colored on the couch together. Sometimes we’ll color, and Hadley just loves it. We had a great spring break!

What a great break! I love that you had it all planned out. We typically go somewhere for a few days of spring break, but I also like to be home a few days doing things we don’t normally have time to do like go to the movies, hang with friends, etc. Some of the best memories are doing the little things. Looks like everyone had fun! …& you got a date night too. 🙂
Realizing I did not respond to the comments on this post! Thank you, it’s fun for Hadley to have things to look forward to each day. She loves a schedule like her mama!
That does sound like a wonderful spring break!
It was fun!
What a fun spring break! It looks like you guys all had a great break. I love Jungle Jim´s. Have not been there in a while and now I want to go!
Jungle Jim’s is like a mini field trip for kids!
