Recapping the week on the blog! Walking workouts, last day of school, pool opening day, and the Taste of Cincinnati.
Monday May 20
Started the week with a YouTube workout! I’ve been doing these walking workouts from Brian Syuki on YouTube. The workouts are easy, but I break a sweat most times too. And the best part is he doesn’t talk! I love those kind. I introduced carrots to Huxley for lunch, and he ate a few! When we picked up Hadley from school, Huxley brought both of his blankets and both of his stuffies. Hadley had team pictures for her select softball team. Kevin stayed home with Huxley.

Tuesday May 21
Started the week with my favorite guy, and did a walking workout on YouTube! Hadley had her end of the year party at school, they played kickball, and had popsicles, and Prime for a treat. I don’t know what it was, but Huxley was obsessed with putting on his winter coat this day. We ate lunch outside in the garage, he ate an apple! He does so good with trying foods. Hadley has a later night on Tuesdays with softball until 8pm, and she doesn’t like to eat dinner until she gets home.

Wednesday May 22
Kevin worked overtime today, so this is day two of him working at the firehouse. Did a walking workout at home. Another day of Huxley randomly wearing his winter coat. I’ve mentioned this in previous blog posts, but at the start of each school year Hadley picks one day to get an icee after school. This year was wednesdays. We all went in to the gas station to get one, and Huxley got an icee too! I filled his up about halfway. Hadley had softball for her school team, and hates getting anywhere late so we were there thirty minutes early to get out of the house. My van has this feature where you can watch the backseats on the main screen, so we hungout in the van waiting for the first kid to show up. Huxley and I left to go home and eat dinner, and then back up to the ballfields to get Hadley.

Thursday May 23
Day three of Kevin working at the firehouse. Hadley’s last day of third grade! Took the traditional chalkboard photo on the front porch. Huxley had to join in the photo too. Hadley’s teacher emailed me that Hadley was getting an award at the assembly in the morning. So Huxley and I attended the assembly, she did not know we were going. She won the reading rocket award for the third trimester, which is exceeding the teacher’s expectations in reading! She was super excited. Huxley was surprisingly good, and so thankful for a nice Grandma that sat next to us and helped with Huxley. She was so sweet to him! When we got home, Huxley took a nap and I did a quick workout. Hadley had early dismissal on her last day of school. So she went to lunch with a few friends, did putt-putt, had ice cream, and then hungout at a friends house for a little bit. When I picked her up, I had a few balloons in the car to celebrate the last day of school. When we got home, she had a fun summer basket of a few goodies. And then we played outside a little and enjoyed the day. Softball practice was cancelled so it was nice.

Friday May 24
Day four of Kevin working at the firehouse. Started my Friday with my favorite face routine. After washing my face with just water, I use the Clarins intensive facial lift wrap, and then put this eye mask under my eyes. I leave everything on for longer than the ten minutes it says to, my skin feels so soft after it’s rinsed off. Huxley and I took a walk while Hadley slept in! We saw some turkeys, and one of them was ruffling the feathers and making loud noises. I’m sure their is some technical term for what they were doing but it freaked me out! After Huxley’s nap, we went outside and played with water balloons. Both Hadley and Huxley loved it, they were both so happy and could’ve stayed out there for hours. After Huxley went to bed, Hadley did her own little mini movie night. She picked out Home Alone 2, and wanted to color. So we looked up a coloring pages from the movie.

Saturday May 25
Huxley loves it when Hadley is home for the summer, he just doesn’t realize she’s out of school! Hadley had a 9am softball game and some family members came! She had a great game, even though they lost. Kevin umpired a game after Hadley’s game. After the game, we went home to eat lunch and then nap for Huxley. Kevin slept until late afternoon, and then we all headed to the pool. Opening day wasn’t too crowded, and surprisingly enough the water wasn’t that cold. Huxley was in heaven, he was so so good! And Hadley could live in water. We packed dinner for the kids to eat while we were at the pool.

Sunday May 26
Kevin worked a detail for the fire department, at the Taste of Cincinnati. My aunt Amy ran into Kevin and sent me this cute picture! Hadley’s softball game got cancelled so we decided to drive downtown and hangout with Kevin for a little bit. It was fun, we walked around and the kids got giant cake pops, and Hadley got ice cream and pizza. Huxley had to go into one of the ambulances set up, and then just hungout for a little while. It was nice to get out of the house. I love summer time! No schedule to follow, no restrictions, just enjoy summer!

That sounds like such a wonderful week! Your summer sure is off to a great start.
Thank you!
I’ve been in your town this week. My oldest daughter and her family have been here for the past year while my son-in-law completes an orthopedic fellowship. They are moving in July, but have really enjoyed their time here. They love their neighborhood and so do we : ) Sounds like you had a great week. I’ve been using a walking app called Better Me and like it so far.
That’s awesome, I’m glad they’ve enjoyed it here! We love it too. I’ll have to check out that app sometime, walking is the best!
Great job as always on the workouts Mama! So inspirational! Yeah for softball season, swimming and summer!!
Thank you!
