I’m starting a movie series each month this year, by doing different genres! Next up, my favorite fantasy movies! To me, fantasy movies are ones that have magic, supernatural events, mythology, folklore, or fantasy worlds.
GHOST.
An oldie, but goodie. Patrick Swayze comes back into Demi Moore’s life in ghost like ways. It’s a tearjerker too! Movie can be found here.

Eddie Murphy can talk to animals. I love him as an actor, he’s a crack up! Movie can be found here.
SPLASH.
Tom Hanks plays a workaholic who’s convinced he can’t fall in love. That is, until he’s mysteriously rescued by sea by the mermaid of his dreams. Movie can be found here.
DON’T LOOK UP.
This is a movie on Netflix, it tells a story of two astronomers attempting to warn humanity about an approaching comet that will destroy human civilization. Movie can be found here.
HARRY POTTER 8-DISC DVD SET.
All eight movies of the Harry Potter series. I am the only Harry Potter fan in my family, my daughter will watch the first one with me but that’s it. Movie can be found here.
MARY POPPINS.
A magical nanny that comes to help get a home in order. If you haven’t seen this one, you are missing out. It’s a classic for sure! Movie can be found here.
CITY OF ANGELS.
A romantic tale of an angel who falls in love with amortal woman in present-day. Another tear jerker. Movie can be found here.
BIG.
A 12-year-old boy makes a wish at a carnival and wakes up the next morning to find himself a 30-year-old man in this funny, sensitive story of childhood vs. adulthood. Movie can be found here.
FOREVER YOUNG.
Mel Gibson plays a daredevil test pilot who has everything but loses the woman he loves, and the things that matter remain Forever Young. Movie can be found here.
MINORITY REPORT.
In the future when criminals are arrested before they commit a crime. A future-viewing piece of technology gives police officers this privilege. One cop (Tom Cruise) is caught committing a crime and now must find out why and how he broke the law in order to change time. Movie can be found here.
WHAT WOMEN WANT.
Mel Gibson gets a whole new outlook on life when a fluke accident gives him the ability to read women’s minds. Love this movie! Movie can be found here.
PIRATE’S OF THE CARIBBEAN.
The thrilling high-seas adventure with a mysterious twist. You either love this type of movies or are not a fan. Movie can be found here.

WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT.
This film mixes live action and animation. Bob Hoskins plays a seedy private eye who is sent on an investigation in Toon-town, an L.A. suburb which houses all the cartoon characters. Jessica Rabbit, a sexy, almost human toon, is up to all sorts of mischief and Hoskins is out to find out exactly what she’s doing, involving himself in murder and intrigue. Movie can be found here.
WILLY WONKA & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.

My first thought on seeing the title was that I don’t really like fantasy movies other than Harry Potter but your list proved me wrong! I do like so many of these– Ghost, What Women Want, Forever Young, City of Angels, Big, etc… but others I’ve never seen like Minority Report or Dragonfly.
I know same here; I looked up so many “fantasy” movies and was surprised at what is considered fantasy!
