Recapping the week on the blog! Summer week 6, swim team, Fourth of July, Hofbräuhaus, and the pool!
Monday July 1
Started off the week with taking the garbage cans out, and Huxley talking to Hadley from the window. While Hadley was at swim team, Huxley and I walked at the park. Came home from the park, and washed my car. I surprised Hadley by taking her to the movies to see the new Inside Out 2 movie! It was so so cute! Even if you haven’t seen the first movie, this one is super cute. After the movie, we went to the ball fields so Hadley could get some extra lessons in softball.

Tuesday July 2
Swim team practice in the morning for Hadley, so Huxley and I walked. After practice, we went to Kroger. If we don’t find a “car cart” as we call them, the grocery store trip isn’t as fun. After Huxley took a nap, we headed to Hadley’s swim meet. She had the meet on a Tuesday this week because of the holiday Thursday. We get to the swim meets super early, so we hung out in the van for a little bit and they played around with the camera inside. I lucked out and got a prime spot on a picnic table, and even better, their was a playground right next to the pool area. Huxley played on it most of the night, it was a godsend! Hadley is getting better and better in swimming, she’s improving her times every meet!

Wednesday July 3
Instead of swim team practice, they had a timed practice to see what kids qualify for “A finals”. Hadley did not qualify, but she had a chance we think. She was still happy she made the “B finals” and gets to swim. After swim team, Hadley went down to the neighbors pool to swim. And then came home to read a book in an hour! She amazes me.

Thursday July 4
No swim team practice on the holiday, so I took the kids to the park and walked as long as they’d let me. And then we played at the toddler playground that’s all fenced in for a little bit. For the Fourth of July, we had my parents and cousins over for dinner. You can read more about our holiday here!

Friday July 5
Met up with our cousins at the pool! It was pretty empty, and we had a great spot for the chairs. We stayed for dinner, the kids had pizza. We headed home and before bed, Hadley opened up a package that Kevin had bought her. It was a necklace with her softball number on it, she loved it. She opened it on FaceTime with her dad.

Saturday July 6
Went to Hofbräuhaus, which is a place that has German beer and food to see my aunt Cindy in town from Florida. We sat right next to the band, which wasn’t ideal for the kids. However, Huxley was loving the loud music and he ate so good there! After we all ate, we headed outside and it was so much better to hear each other and talk. Kevin worked three details, so we missed him during the day. When we got home, the kids had some ice cream and then Hadley joined us for bath time. And she read Huxley his books before bed. He was loving every second of it. After the kids were in bed, Kevin got home and we hung outside for a little bit and talked.

Sunday July 7
Went to the park for Hadleys softball lessons. Kevin, Huxley and I walked for a little bit. Huxley and I headed home for him to eat lunch and take a nap. While he and Kevin napped, Hadley and I picked up our cousin and headed to the pool. It was so nice being there without Huxley, I need a break every once in a while! Later on, Kevin and Huxley came up to the pool so I got about two hours to myself while Hadley swam with her cousin and friends. We grilled out up at the pool, charcoal grilled steak tastes so good!
