Weekly Recap.

Recapping the week on the blog! Summer week 7, swim team finals, and out of town softball tournament!

Monday July 8
Cut the grass Monday morning, and oh my goodness! If you watched my Instagram stories, you’ll know how annoyed I was at cutting the grass this day. Kevin loves this striping system thing that goes on the back of the mower, it’s heavy, and so dumb. It makes the yard have these nice stripes, but I still think you can make stripes without it. Hadley had her swim team finals, we got there super early, so I got a picnic table spot! She placed first in all of her events, backstroke in the medley relay, backstroke individual, and freestyle individual. She did great and can’t wait to get her ribbons! My parents came, which is always a help with Huxley when I’m by myself. He was pretty good, in the hot heat, we brought lots of toys, and he loved the Kona ice.

Tuesday July 9
After I got a shower, I watered the flowers outside and was literally dripping just standing there watering. I don’t know why I decided to water after a shower, so dumb. Hadley has a friend down the street that goes to her school and is a year younger. They play a lot during the summer, running back and forth between each other’s houses. When I went to check on Hadley before I went to bed, she was all sprawled out and it cracked me up.

Wednesday July 10
Started off the week with a walk around the neighborhood. Hadley had a haircut today, and of all days he had to get woken up from his nap to go. He does so good with his haircuts! He knows he gets a sucker as soon as he sits in the chair. After his haircut, we stopped at a new to us smoothie place to get the kids smoothies, and then a trip to Ulta for Hadley to spend her allowance money.

Thursday July 11
Started off the week with a walk around the neighborhood. As Hadley was getting ready for softball practice, the coach sent a message they could wear shorts because of the heat so she immediately changed into shorts. Starting a little vacation pile on the dining room table. I like to keep all the things together as I get them. Huxley and I ate dinner on the tv trays and watched a movie, while Hadley was at softball.

Friday July 12
Hadley had her first out of town tournament for softball, so we decided to have Huxley stay back with my parents. I was so glad they could watch him! He had so much fun playing with all the toys at his grandparents’ house. And Hadley loved having her parents all to herself for an entire weekend. We checked into the hotel, and then hit up the outlet malls which was right by our hotel. After dinner, we went back to the hotel, and she swam in the pool. It was an indoor pool, the water was cold, and the whole room the pool was in was like a sauna. No air flow. Hadley took a shower before bed and was ready to go to sleep.

Saturday July 13
More pictures from my parents of Huxley, he was a happy boy! Hadley had an 8am game, had to be at the fields by 7am, so we got up early and went to the lobby to eat some breakfast. Hadley isn’t a huge breakfast person, so she had some cheerios, while Kevin and I had some eggs. Off to the fields, which luckily was just about five minutes from our hotel, it was perfect! The first game wasn’t too hot, but the second and third was a little toasty. We put up our big tent for the third game. In between games, we went back to the outlet malls and got a few more things. Ate dinner out, and then Hadley got an ice cream at the gas station right by the hotel, so she’d have more time to swim. A few of her teammates were at our hotel, so they were swimming together for a little bit. Back at my parents, Huxley was playing with his cousins that came over.

Sunday July 14
Huxley up and happy! Hadley waiting for us to check out, and head to her last game. The game wasn’t until 10:30am, so we didn’t have to get up as early. She lost her game, and that was it for the tournament. She played four games total. After the game, we headed straight to my parents to pick up Huxley. He was so happy to see us! It was a great weekend with just our girl Hadley. She loved having our undivided attention. Plus, it was a nice break away from Huxley. I’m not without him much, so I needed that break too! And so glad Kevin was off work and could go!

  1. It has been crazy hot here too in NH which is rare! LOVE all of the softball and swimming-what a fun summer you all are having! I can’t believe how big Huxley is looking. He looks less like a baby and more like a big boy- oh my goodness 🙂

  2. Love all your pics. Reminds me of when my kids were younger (they’re 11-17 now) and we did so much of that – swimming pool, sports, walks in the neighborhood. Now they can mostly do all their own things. I am actually looking forward to Fall when my middle will be back to club soccer.

  3. Looks like a fun hot summertime week. It’s nice to have one on one time with our kids. Glad you got a little weekend away with yours. Have a great day!
