Our Nashville Trip 2025.

Earlier this month, Kevin and I took a weekend trip to Nashville, Tennessee! We had the best time! It was so nice to get away, just the two of us. We have been to Nashville before, but not with just us alone. We needed this trip, as most parents with busy kids and lives do.

We stayed at the Tempo by Hilton, it was a great hotel! It is in a great location, about two blocks from the main strip. Parking is a little pricey, but that is to be expected in a big city like Nashville. The lobby is beautiful, marble flooring, lots of seating, and a huge bar area. They still had Christmas lights in the lobby, which was a cool vibe. In the hallways where the rooms are, their are huge pictures of singers everywhere. I was most impressed with the mirror in the bathroom, it was bluetooth! You could pair your phone and play music through the mirror!

Friday.
As soon as we got settled into the hotel, and freshened up from the drive we headed out on the town! I have said this from the very beginning of Kevin and I dating, he is the best partner to travel with. And you can always find out so much about a person when you travel with them! We both are super chill, and just go with the flow. Anyways, we got ready to go out and just started walking.

We went to Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row for dinner, and to listen to some music of course! The band that was playing while we were there was not very good. They played more heavy rock type music than country. Across the room, their were these two guys that we were laughing out loud at! They reminded me of that movie “A Night at the Roxbury”. If you’ve seen that, you will know what I’m talking about when you look at the very blurry photo I took of them from across the place. It looked like they both had suits on, and they both did have sunglasses on. It was hilarious!

After we got some food, we went to the Whiskey Bent Saloon, the band playing reminded us of Zach Top so much! Their was this older tall guy that had this vest on, a long sleeved collared shirt, jeans, and a cowboy hat. I was obsessed with him. I kept telling Kevin he needs to wear that outfit! And yes, I took pictures of him as he walked back from the bathroom!

Next, we went to Morgan Wallen This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen! This was our favorite place we went to the entire weekend. The bands were good, the sound was good, the vibe was good, just all in all good! It had two levels, so you could go upstairs and watch the band from above. We stayed upstairs most of the time, you could either sit or stand.

Saturday
I am not going to lie, I was so hungover Saturday morning. It’s been awhile since I’ve felt like that, but a good time was had for sure! We ate breakfast at the Bluestone Lane cafe in our hotel, it was so good! We both got a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. Kevin got coffee, and I got a chai tea latte. I love eggs, but an egg sandwich when you are hungover is even better! I think I drank like five glasses of water too. On our way back up to the room, I took a picture of Kevin with a bunch of hats behind him.

Meanwhile, back at home my parents sent us pictures of the kids! They sure had fun!

After we ate breakfast, we freshened up to do a little walking around during the day. A big mural of Dolly Parton, I think it was for her Imagination Library program but I’m not sure. For the first time in forever, Kevin bought himself some stuff! A new cowboy hat, and a vest by Ariat! All inspired by that hot older dude at the bar the night before haha! I was so excited for him to wear it.

For lunch, we ate at Luke’s 32 Bridge restaurant. More water for me. On our walk back to the hotel, we stopped at Savannah’s Candy Kitchen and got some sour gummies, and chocolate non-pareils. I was craving some candy, and this candy store was huge! When we got back to the hotel, we pretty much just chilled until I felt better. Watched some Netflix and ate candy lol. After some rest and more water, it was time to get ready for some more music! Kevin wore his new vest and hat, doesn’t he look so handsome? I just love it!

First stop was Garth Brooks’ place, Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk. My aunt text me we should check it out, so we did. It was a really cool place, and it was huge, but the band playing wasn’t that good so we had one drink and left.

Next, we went to Hank Williams Jr Boogie Bar. The band playing here liked to talk more than sing, it was kinda crazy! And they loved to let you know that if you send them money via venmo, they will play your song. We all know that rarely happens in Nashville, unless you leave a large amount! And I do know that all of the bands do that with venmo, but this particular band seemed to harp on it more than they should which turned me off. We watched some of the Bengals game there, and then left.

By this time we were starving, so we found a pizza place to eat dinner at. The pizza place was called Luigi’s City Pizza, and it was so good! The restaurant did not have any live music, but they did have the Bengals game on. It was nice to just sit and eat and to be able to hear yourself talk. Plus, the service was really good!

After we ate, we went to Legend’s Corner and I remember this place from the last few times we’ve gone to Nashville. The band was pretty good, love seeing violinist in bands.

Next, we went to the Lucky Bastard Saloon which was the only place that patted us down like we were going through a metal detector. The band that was playing here was awesome! I wish I would’ve paid more attention to the band name, the lead lady singer was just amazing! I liked this place. And just look at Kevin, isn’t he the cutest cowboy you’ve ever seen? ♥

We listened to a few songs at the Lucky Bastard Saloon, and then we headed back to our favorite Morgan Wallen’s This Bar! We didn’t stay too too late, as we had to drive home the next day, and we just can’t hang anymore!

Random side note that I wanted to write just to remember, but it was like 2am or something and I woke up with bad acid reflux. And this one time, I did not pack any tums! I didn’t know what to do. Kevin was zonked, like he didn’t move or anything, and why did I try to wake him up? What could he do? So I threw on a hoodie and some shoes, and went down to the lobby. The nice lady at the front desk gave me two of her alka-seltzer pills she had in her purse because the little mini store they had did not have any type of tums. I don’t even know if alka-seltzer works for acid-reflux but I still took them. It took me a little bit to fall asleep, meanwhile, Kevin didn’t hear a thing. I soo wish I could sleep like him, and not hear a sound!

Sunday.
We left around 7:30am, since we had about a four hour drive home. We knew their was snow coming, just didn’t know when so we hit the road early. One hour into our drive home, it was heavily snowing! I do not like driving in the snow at all. I’m so glad Kevin was driving, and we had his truck. I brought all my planner / blog stuff to do in the car and I’m so glad I did because I can’t look when someone is driving in the snow. I was looking down in my lap, most of the ride home. I decided to take a photo of our drive every hour, and oh my goodness was the ride home one to remember. It took us EIGHT hours to drive a FOUR hour trip. It was craziness! Trucks were jack-knifed all over the place, we lost count of how many cars we saw on the side of the road stuck. Every time we were stopped, we both got out and got the ice off of the windshield wipers. It was just insane.

We got home, and the kids stayed at my parents one more night. I did not want to be in the car one more second, and I didn’t want to be in the car for longer than we had to with the kids and risk driving in the snow again with them. So my parents graciously kept the kids one more night. The next week was the week when most of the kids were off school like two or three days! Some schools were off the entire week!

Despite the crazy ride home, we had a great time in Nashville! We want to go back in the summer! It was so nice to be with just Kevin, and have an adult only weekend. I loved it!
