Weekly Recap.

Happy Monday! Man oh man, what a week it was. Are you feeling okay out there? The recent events have me like wow, can I just win the lottery and buy a remote island somewhere off the grid? Anyways, this weekly recap is a little light on the pictures as I was off my phone most of the week. I just couldn’t stand to read all of the stories and things. Linking up with Holly and Sarah! Here is the recap…

Monday September 8.
Walked around the neighborhood after work, it’s been so nice outside lately. Walking outside in the sunshine is such a mood booster. Kevin was off so he took Hadley to softball practice, while I stayed home with Huxley.

Tuesday September 9.
Walked outside after work and then took Huxley to get a haircut. That’s pretty much it for my Tuesday, nothing much.

Wednesday September 10.
A very sad day in the world, Charlie Kirk was shot and died. The world’s reaction to this horrible horrible thing, has been so hard to watch and take in. It’s so weird how someone we don’t even know, can have such an effect on the world. Took Hadley to softball practice, and our carpool brought home.

Thursday September 11.
Not only was Wednesday a sad day, so was today. The school I work at had a lockdown, and it was a little nerve racking since it was my first time experiencing something like that. It wasn’t anything at the actual school, it was a domestic dispute somewhere nearby, so it was just a precaution, but still, not knowing that at the time of the lockdown. Super scary. And then it was 9/11 on top of that. Just a crazy few days!

Kevin took my van to get an oil change, and my lease is up in a few months so he was sending me tons of videos and pictures of new vans. Not sure what we’re going to do, so we’ll see. Hadley had her catcher’s clinic, and I finally got to take her to one! It’s been my mom and Kevin taking her lately. I did have Huxley, so I wasn’t able to watch the entire hour but I did see a little here and there. And then Kevin went to the union meeting for the fire department. A busy day for sure.

Friday September 12.
Walked outside after work, I’m telling you this weather has been just beautiful. We do need some rain though; all the lawns look super dry! It either needs to get cold, or just rain for a few days. Hadley had her Friday night fall ball softball games. A beautiful night for ballgames! They won both, and my parents haven’t missed a game yet!

Saturday September 13.
Hadley had her first out of town softball tournament for the season. Since Kevin was off, he took her. It was a one day tournament, but two hours away. I stayed home with Huxley! And if you know Huxley at all, he tends to act like a completely different kid when he’s with me versus his dad. So Hadley gave me a great idea to have a plan, like we used to do back in the C word days.

I googled images of things we would try and do for the day, printed them out, and glued them to a poster. Super simple!

Started the morning by Huxley sleeping in! Yay! I told him about us having a little bucket list of things to do and it was downstairs for him to go see. He got went to the bathroom very nicely and calmly, because usually that’s a chore when he’s with me. He brushed his teeth, and got dressed, then we headed downstairs.

Went to get donuts, and then figured out the tent with the two mini fans! He went in and out of the tent, it would’ve worked better with a box fan but ours decided to stop working before making a tent up!

Played inside for a little bit. He loves that spinning toy I got at the goodwill for $8!

Made lunch in a muffin tin, and he ate every last bite! It was awesome. He requested a grilled cheese, Doritos, a banana, and yogurt covered raisins.

After lunch, Huxley took a nice long nap. I took a shower, put on a depuffing face mask, folded some laundry, and watched a show on Hulu.

After nap, we checked off “nap” and then headed to the playground! He was so excited, and was being so good all day. Their was a birthday party at the park, a few moms were standing by the Kona Ice truck and offered Huxley one. Soo nice!

After the playground, we went to Kroger for just a few things. I decided to get Huxley a cake pop, and I’ve been dying to try the pumpkin cream chai at Starbucks! It was pretty good, I would’ve liked some more spice though.

Got home and started dinner. While I made dinner, this was the only time all day he asked to watch his iPad! Mom win! He had dinner in the muffin tin again, he loved it! Fish sticks, Mac & cheese, and a strawberry.

Off and on all day, Kevin sent me some pictures and videos of Hadley at her softball tournament. Her team made it to the semi-finals, and lost. Her and Kevin got home around 10pm, which is why I kept Huxley home!
