Hadley and I had a movie night for her birthday date! We tried to see the Barbie movie in the theater, but it didn’t work out schedule wise. So I bought the movie on Amazon Prime so we could watch it at home. We’ve both been wanting to see the Barbie movie, ever since it came out, so we were both excited.

I used Hadley’s actual Barbie dream house she has in her room as the snack tower for all of the fun treats. I love coming up with fun ideas and ways to tie in everything to the movie.

Hadley was off school this day, so we started off the day with a few activities we could do while Huxley napped. Barbie word search, what is your Barbie name, and draw your favorite hairstyle for Barbie.

Made an easy banner to display on the mantle, and printed off some Barbie quotes and taped them on the kitchen cabinets.

Found some interesting facts about Barbie!

Boom Chicka Pop popcorn, cotton candy, strawberry wafers, unicorn marshmallows, pink Starburst jello, and starbursts.

Found these Barbie toys at the dollar store.

She loves the idea of having special one on one time with her parents each month. We are going to take turns each month so we both get a chance to have our time with her throughout the year. I’m not saying we don’t get one on one time with her; I get a lot of time with her with my husband’s work schedule, but there is something special about planning something each month with her. It can be as simple as playing board games in the basement, coloring for an hour, going to a playground and eating dinner, just simple things. The point is, to be with just her and give her our undivided attention.
