Our 2024 Summer Vacation – Days 11, 12, & 13.

Here is the last of the vacation posts, recap part four!

Saturday, August 3

Woke up and went out on the balcony for one last view of the ocean, the kids waved bye to the ocean! So sad to leave my happy place, but all good things must come to an end.

Just like at the cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN, we rented a full-size crib for the week for Huxley. Best invention ever. They drop off the crib when you arrive, and you set it outside your place when you leave, and they come and pick it up.

We drove the entire way home, didn’t stop at a hotel or anything. Just for gas, bathroom breaks, and for the kids to eat. It was a little rough towards the end, but overall, the kids were great.

Sunday, August 4

On our long way home, instead of going to our house we drove to the lake! We haven’t been all summer, and we were missing it. I started out my morning by taking a two-mile walk. And then we took the kids to feed the horses, they love doing that! The family that has the horses, has other animals like roosters, chickens, kittens, etc. They are so friendly and love it when the kids come up to visit and feed their animals.

We finally got out on our boat! Brady wake boarded a few times, and it was nice to get out on the lake after all this time. Hadley loves to fish, her and her cousin caught so many fish because the lake is so low. So low, you can practically see the fish swimming as they are being caught.

Huxley loved the boat after a few minutes, he took a minute to get used to it, and then he was happy. He kept his sunglasses on and just enjoyed the ride.

Went to visit the horses again, which is multiple times a day occurrence. And more boat rides of course.

Monday, August 5

Huxley for some weird reason, woke up at like 4:45am wide awake. I grabbed him out of his pack ‘n play and put him in our bed. He watched a video on my phone for a few minutes, and then I turned it off and said night night. He fell fast asleep and slept until 9am! We packed up our stuff and left mid-morning back home! It was a great long vacation, with multiple stops! The kids did great traveling to different places!
