Weekly Recap.

Recapping the week on the blog! Summer week 12, braces, pool time, lemonade stand, and a garage sale!

Monday August 12
We had a pretty chill day for a Monday. Worked out in the morning, and then pretty much chilled. Hadley thought it would be a good idea to take Huxley for a short walk down the street to the mailbox on his scooter. Never again! He kept running away from Hadley, and she ended up carrying his scooter back to our driveway. She is always such a trooper with her little brother, she always wants to play with him, even when he has his little two-year-old tantrums! We grilled out steak for dinner!

Tuesday August 13
Braces day for Hadley! She has been looking forward to this day for so long. I don’t know any kid that is as excited for braces as my kid! Kevin and I, on the other hand were not that excited, because of another expense! But her little, tiny mouth, can’t fit all of her teeth the right way so braces are needed. Her little smiles say it all, she is excited! When we got home from braces, I worked out and then the kids had some lunch. Hadley ate some pudding and yogurt. The orthodontist gave her a little take home bag of soft foods to eat for meals. After Huxley’s nap, we went to the pool. We pretty much had it to ourselves, there were maybe two other families there, it was great. Hadley requested Wendy’s for dinner, she had her nuggets cut into small, tiny pieces and loved the frosty.

One of our local college teams, is the University of Cincinnati Bearcats. Ever since Huxley saw a blowup Bearcat at Sams Club, he loves to do the “Bearcat stance”. It’s too funny! Hadley’s teeth started to hurt around bedtime, that was the only time she asked for Tylenol! She is such a brave girl!

Wednesday August 14
Worked out in the morning. Put together a car track for Huxley, and Hadley patiently plays with him all the time. I seriously love how good of a sister Hadley is! Kevin took the kids to the pool and fed them dinner there. I had a sports meeting for Hadley’s school after dinner.

Thursday August 15
My van had an oil change appointment first thing in the morning, the kids were so good there! I brought breakfast, snacks, and iPads! We were in and out in an hour, I was amazed! Did a workout when we got home. Hadley has been wanting to do a lemonade stand, as part of her summer bucket list. I made little flyers, and her friends helped her pass them out on the street. I tried to convince her to do it on Saturday, when our neighbors were doing garage sales, but she wanted to do it on Thursday, so we did! Kevin and Hadley made chocolate chip cookies the night before to sell alongside the lemonade. Huxley and I sat out there with her, it got a little hot. We used an umbrella a few times. And Kevin even stopped by in the ambulance! After the kids went to bed, I went to town in the basement and started clearing out things for the garage sale.

Friday August 16
Worked out in the morning, and Huxley took a super long nap. We had to wake him to leave for a birthday pool party Hadley was invited to. Our neighbors’ grandkids have made good friends with Hadley, and the girl invited her to her birthday party which just so happened to be at our pool. Hadley didn’t know anyone at the party except the birthday girl, and she left the party knowing a few more girlfriends. I am so amazed at Hadley; she is shy at first but warms up quickly and makes friends so well. They played hide and seek all around the grounds! Huxley and I ate dinner at the picnic tables, and then headed to the baby pool. Hadley got a cute little goodie basket from the birthday party, filled with all things girlie, she loved it!

Saturday August 17
I stayed up super late Friday night, getting everything ready for the garage sale. It takes a lot of work putting things like that all together, putting prices on every item you have, setting it all up, etc. Hadley had a back-to-school bash at her school, but I was too exhausted to go. Her friend’s mom offered to take her, and Hadley was beyond excited she still got to go!

Sunday August 18
Day two of our garage sale, things were a little slower today, but we still had people show up, just in spurts. Hadley had her friend that lives down the street come by and help her sell lemonade. She got quite a few customers again! We had a super busy, but fun weekend!
