Weekly Recap.

Recapping the week on the blog today. One year older, book fair, dinner, and a birthday party! Linking up with Holly and Sarah! Here is the recap…

Monday March 3
Today was my birthday! I wrote a fun little blog post here, about turning another year older! Huxley had Dr. Seuss week at school, and today was pajama day. On the way to work, I stopped at Starbucks and got my free birthday drink. Iced chai tea latte! I used to work for Kroger and saw all over social media the resignation of the CEO. Man oh man were the rumor mills blazing! My boss gave me a plant for my office, I now have six plants at work! When I got home from work, worked out upstairs in my office. I like to watch a show or a movie while I work out, it helps distract me from the time. Hadley made me the cutest magnet at school. For dinner, we grilled out steak and Kevin didn’t take one photo! Oh well. Brady and his girlfriend came over for dinner, and then Hadley and I took off for softball. We ate a little early.

Tuesday March 4
After work, I walked at the trail! It was so nice outside! I ran home to get Hadley, and then her and I went to the book fair at school so she could pick out some new books. She showed me some of her art work in the hallway of art class. Kevin picked up Huxley at daycare. And then he headed off to work the FC Soccer game for a work detail. I ordered some new skincare; an influencer was having a great discount code, so I tried it. You can find more at this link: Elemis Skincare. Hadley was pushing Huxley in his little bike and was having a ball. She would run up and down the street, and Huxley would put his arms and legs up in the air and scream with excitement! After Huxley went to bed, I went out to pull my car into the garage and there were three deer just standing in our front yard. It scared me at first, but they didn’t move they just stood there and looked at me.

Wednesday March 5
Went to Ash Wednesday mass at work, it was nice to go during the day and not have to go at night. Got home and did a workout. Huxley kept asking Hadley and I what was on our forehead, it was funny!

Thursday March 6
After work, I headed to the trail again and I ran 1.5 miles! I was so proud of myself, and it felt amazing! Hadley had spanish this day, so I picked her up after I worked out. I had enough time to take a quick shower, I met my friend Christy for dinner. It was fun to catch up just her and I!

Friday March 7
Worked out in my office after work. I watched the story about Kara Robinson and how she escaped this psycho after just eighteen hours of being kidnapped. It was a crazy story! I always think, should I tell Hadley about these kinds of stories? And then I tell myself no, I don’t want to scare my child so young. But I do want her to be aware of strangers (and I think she is), and how different the world is now from when I was growing up. I can’t think about those types of things too much, or I’ll drive myself insane worrying about it. My sweet friend Kristin sent me the prettiest gift for my birthday. It was a package from an Etsy shop. The box had my name engraved on the front, and then a personalized glass cup along with so many other cute items. It was so sweet, I loved it! Hadley and I went to the Dollar Tree to get a few things for her friend’s birthday party on Saturday, and she picked out a doctor kit for Huxley. He loved playing with it after he got home from daycare.

Saturday March 8
Hadley had a birthday party to go to for a softball teammate, and then she was having a sleepover at another softball teammate’s house. Huxley and I were solo! I managed to do pretty much prepping for Huxley’s birthday party on Sunday. I needed to grab a few last-minute things at Kroger plus needed to get out of the house with Huxley! He picked out a $6 toy truck he was obsessed with, and then we went to the car wash. You can see him holding his toy truck with a vice grip in his hands. And then we went through the drive-thru at Skyline for dinner. Once we got home, we ate dinner at his little kid table and watched The Lion King on his iPad. He was a pretty happy boy!

Sunday March 9
The start of our busy Sunday was with Hadley serving at church. This was my first time seeing her serve since she started a few months ago. She mainly serves during school mass which is during the week, and I can’t go to because of work. So, I was excited to finally get to see her! After church, we headed home, and I did some last-minute things to get ready for Huxley’s birthday party. I can’t wait to share all of the details! His party was garbage truck themed, as you have seen from these invitations. I love to plan a party! He had a great time, and it was nice everyone came to celebrate him turning three!

  1. Happy Lent and Happy Happy Birthday! Looks like it was a wonderful one 🙂 I am jealous of your beautiful weather- I feel like it is close here but still chilly! I think it sounds like Huxley was your best birthday gift ever- with his new haircut, he looks like a little man- precious!

  2. Oh my goodness that cake is adorable!
As a victim of a carjacking/kidnapping I think the best thing you can do for Hadley is to tell her to always be aware of her surroundings.

    1. Oh wow I’m sorry to hear that. You are a survivor! I’ve been having more and more conversations with her about that, don’t want to scare her but want her to be aware.
