Happy Monday! How is everyone? I miss you all, whoever reads my little blog in my small corner of the internet. Linking up with Holly and Sarah! Here is the recap from mid-June to present!

Monday June 15.
Started this Monday with working from home. My boss graciously let me work from home two days a week for the month of June. Mainly so I could take my daughter to swim team on the days my husband was at the firehouse. My mom usually takes my daughter to swim team, but because they were traveling abroad for almost three weeks for their anniversary, I was able to do it!
After work hours, we made one of those popular dot cakes! It was delicious! There are lots of different versions you can make, and ours wasn’t by far the healthiest, but it was yummy. Hadley enjoyed her dot cake after she got home from softball practice.

Tuesday June 16.
After work, I had a dentist appointment to get a crown. Ugh. Even though I love my dentist, I hate going to the dentist! After my crown, I got my hair highlighted and trimmed. And then Hadley had catching. She is rocking it.

Thursday June 18.
Swim meet! I love the friends Hadley has made on swim team, some are from school, and some are not from school. But they are all buddies in the summer!

Friday June 19.
I was off work today for the Juneteenth holiday. After Huxley’s nap, we went and saw the Toy Story 5 movie! It was so so cute! If you haven’t seen it yet, I would recommend seeing it! Even if you’re not a Toy Story fan, it’s a really good story line introducing electronics to young kids. My kids love Toy Story, we all have our own favorites. I’m not sure how they can come up with five different Toy Story movies, but after this fifth one, you could definitely see how they could keep going!

Sunday June 21.
We went to the firehouse to visit Kevin on Father’s Day. And later that night, we picked up my parents from the airport. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, by going on a train ride through Switzerland, and then a cruise through Greece! They were soo tired after a long day of traveling, I have no idea what time they woke up with all the different time zones.

Tuesday June 23.
Hadley killing it at catching lessons. She loves her catching coach, and the girls she practices with. They are all so friendly!

Wednesday June 24.
Huxley had water day at school! He loves having his shirt off, must be a boy thing for sure. After school, Huxley had a haircut, that boys hair grows so fast! Hadley took a friend to our pool for kids’ day and had a blast! No photos were taken since it was just the girls, they were too busy having fun than to worry about taking photos.

Friday June 26 to Sunday June 28.
Off work today! After Huxley’s nap, we headed to Columbus Indiana for a softball tournament. Kevin was going to meet us there since he had to work at his part time job, and got off work at 7pm. So the kids and I loaded up the truck and hit the road. Instead of staying at another boring hotel, we decided to book an Airbnb! The kids had their own room, and Kevin and I had our own room. It was a tiny duplex, but it was perfect for what we needed.
On our way to the Airbnb, we got word that the tournament was cancelled due to rain! We had a feeling it was going to be cancelled, but we chose to go as planned anyway. We would’ve been out all the money we spent on the Airbnb, so we just made a weekend out of it. An expensive weekend that is! We went to the outlet malls twice, but it was in a nice little quaint town where we could walk to practically everything. It was a nice little short getaway.

Tuesday June 30.
After work, since Hadley did not have catching tonight, the kids wanted to do the slip ‘n slide! They love doing it! I let them use a little bit of Dawn dish soap to make the slide more slippery!

Wednesday July 1.
After work, we packed up the swim bag and headed to the pool! I love going to the pool after work, packing sandwiches for dinner, and just relaxing there for a little bit. We love the pool so much, wish we had our own pool again!

Thursday July 2.
Today was a super-hot day, so I was dreading going to a swim meet. But we came prepared. I wore a hat, a tank top, and brought our fans. Thankfully, Kevin came after work and picked up Huxley. He was so red in the face. After we got home from the swim meet, Hadley decided to sleep in the basement. It gets so hot in the upstairs of our house, so she slept on the blow-up mattress!

Friday July 3.
Off work for Independence Day being on a Saturday this year. Kevin was working, and his crew had to attend an outdoor event where they would be standing in the sun for a few hours in the middle of the day. So they came home and grabbed our two tents and chairs for them to use. Huxley was patiently waiting in the garage until they arrived. We went to the pool after nap time. Huxley started going under water and jumping in!

Saturday July 4.
Started the morning by making a countdown until vacation! The kids love taking a starfish off the door every morning, they fight over who gets to do it every day! While Huxley took a nap, Hadley made an Oreo ice cream cake with red/white/blue sprinkles. After Huxley woke up, we made a festive drink with red and blue ice cubes made out of Gatorade. Hadley had Sprite in her drink, and Huxley had water in his. I printed off a few games to do, which Huxley only had the attention span to do just one. And then we whipped out our s’more’s maker for the first time! You plug it in, and it warms up like a toaster. It was super cute and the kids loved it!
For bedtime, the kids had planned to sleep in the basement together on blow up mattresses. I put the sound machine on the highest level to drown out any fireworks that would go off. Well, that didn’t work. We have some new neighbors down the street, and they put on their own firework show down the street in our backyard. The fireworks started at 10pm, and lasted until 10:30pm. The kids came up from the basement, and we sat outside on the back deck and watched the show from our patio chairs. It was awesome. I will say, the new neighbors did send out a little flyer to everyone letting us all know they would be doing the fireworks. Next year, if we are home, I will just let the kids stay up and watch it and then go to bed. Some years I hate the fireworks, and some years I love them. It all depends, but sometimes it seems like they go on forever into the night and it’s hard to sleep!

Sunday July 5.
Huxley loves to “help” cut the grass, by using his little toy mower and going up and down the yard with us. And then he’ll use his little toy blower when we blow all the grass cuttings off. Hadley’s friend invited her to go boating with her family for the day, she was super excited! The friend’s mom sent me a few photos; she was having a ball!

Tuesday July 7.
Kevin was home and we all went to catching lessons! Love watching Hadley do her thing, she has found her calling for sure. I don’t know how she does it, she has an arm, and can squat for hours on end.

Wednesday July 8.
Bring a dino to school day! Love how Huxley’s school has themes each week, today was bring a dinosaur in. The kids played with their dinosaurs they brought in with each other. One kid brought in the green dinosaur from Toy Story! On our way home from softball practice, Huxley loves to pretend he’s on a run in a firetruck, and both him and Hadley have to hang their headphones on the hook when they get home.

Thursday July 9.
Last swim meet of the season! I was super proud of my park job, the big grey truck, we get to swim meets early just to get a good parking spot because they are usually small pools with limited parking spaces. Plus, it gives us a chance to get our chairs and a spot set up for the night. My parents have come to almost every swim meet this season, so grateful for them to come and support their granddaughter.

Saturday July 11 to Sunday July 12.
Last softball tournament of the season, the World Series! Huxley stayed with the grandparents thankfully. Hadley continues to amaze me as a catcher. She caught five of the six games, including four games in one day, all on the last day to be exact! And she still had energy to keep going. Hadley’s team won the World Series and brought home a shiny gold ring to show for it. Her favorite coach and friend are leaving the team, which we are very sad about. Hadley has formed lots of friendships on this team, and I hope they last forever. All the girls continue to have group chats on their phones which I love so much! She spends more time with her softball friends, than her school friends for sure. It’s a good balance though, kids need to venture out and broaden their horizons.

Tuesday July 14.
Hadley made it to “A Finals” for swim team. My parents took her, since they start in the middle of the day. And after I got off work. Huxley and I drove to the meet to watch her. She got disqualified in breast stroke, and swam butterfly for the first time in finals and didn’t come in last place! So proud of her for continuing to do swim team, it’s a fun easy sport she can do in the summer.

Thursday July 16.
Hadley started going to hitting lessons too! The hitting coach is super nice, Hadley loves him!

Friday July 17.
Kevin and I were both off work today, so we made plans! First was the zoo! It was so hot, but so fun. We get there early for zoo members, and then after about two hours we head out. It’s the perfect amount of time to see some animals and ride the train and carousel. Somehow, we all ended up wearing some version of red and black attire haha
We headed home to let Huxley take a nap, and then we headed to the pool! Only took a picture of us on the way home, as it started pouring and thundering. The pool kept being on a delay to swim every time it thundered, to pass the time Kevin played cornhole with some guys and we just hung out for awhile.

Sunday July 19.
My Sunday started super early, I drove Kevin to the airport at 4am! He went to bomber training with the fire department in New Mexico. His flight left at 6:30am. The training facility was literally in the middle of nowhere!
After Huxley’s nap, I feel like a broken record saying that but we literally give Huxley a nap as long as he’ll still take one. It makes everyone’s life happier for the day. So, after nap, we headed to the pool!

Monday July 20.
While Kevin was away at training, I took off work to be home with the kids. We made a plan for a few of the days, and we shockingly stuck to the plan! First up was the trampoline park! It was so dead, the kids basically had it to themselves. After the trampoline park, we went to Five Below because you know, squishes. And then Chipotle for lunch. While Huxley took a nap, Hadley made a Oreo flurry at home by herself! And then after dinner, we tried out a new ice cream place called “Sprinkles”. It was delicious! We didn’t do a movie night in the basement, because we tried to do as many things as we could on Monday since we had nothing to do that day.

Tuesday July 21.
Went to the library in the morning! Hadley needed one more book to read before school starts, but she ended up getting two more books. She tries to read 2-3 books a summer. While we were at the library, we got Huxley his own library card. He was excited to pick out his own books, and to check them out himself. Hadley did the scavenger hunt they had, and Huxley tried to do it too. After the library, they changed into their bathing suits and they did water balloons! The driveway was filled with balloons remnants, but they had fun.
After nap, we headed to hitting which is only a half an hour! We had some time to kill before catching started, so we went to Starbucks and they got a drink and a cake pop. They watched their iPads inside for a little bit, and then we moved to outside. It was nice in the shade! It was a hot one at catching, I don’t know how they do it with all that gear on!

Wednesday July 22.
Went to Hadley’s favorite park! It was a little crowded to say the least. I think it was crowded because the weather was unbelievably cool! The kids love this park, it has a zip line, places for small kids to play, all kinds really. After the playground, we headed home to eat lunch. After nap, Huxley had a haircut! And then we met my parents for the kids to have a sleepover at their house! No reason, just to have a sleepover at grandma’s and grandad’s house. I wasn’t feeling the best, it was like a weird cold or something. I felt pretty poopy, so I just vegged out and rested a lot.

Thursday July 23.
The kids made cookies, cake pops, and did some tie-dye shirts! I went to pick up Kevin at their airport, and then we headed to my parents to pick up the kids. We brought dinner over and hung out for a little bit.

Friday July 24.
Huxley wearing his fireman outfit, cracks me up!

Saturday July 25.
We had nothing to do on a Saturday! It was awesome. Hadley decided to hit two buckets of balls on her own, and Huxley hit some with her. She is a great teacher for him. I cut the grass, and then Huxley helped me water the flowers. And then after nap guess what we did? Went to the pool! Kevin worked a detail at the music festival downtown, he didn’t get home until 2:30am!

Sunday July 26.
Kevin worked at his part-time fire job. The kids and I went to Meijer’s to get Hadley’s school supplies! She found everything she needs except a bookbag and a lunch box. She does use her bookbag two years in a row, and this year it’s time for a new one. When Kevin gets home from work this night, which is around 7:30pm, he and the kids are going to the lake for a day or two. Unfortunately, I have to work so I can’t go! We spent the rest of the day doing laundry, and getting the kids’ bags packed for the lake.
