Birthday project – Week 8/52.

This is my birthday project for the next 52 weeks. You can read more about it here!

Week eight! Taking vitamins.

Everyday, for a few months now, I’ve been taking these four vitamins in addition to a multi-vitamin (not pictured). I’m not too sure I can notice a difference with anything except my hair has been growing like a weed! I think a big part of the hair growth is taking the Biotin. I’ve also heard of women taking pre-natal vitamins for hair and nail growth alone!

I have a routine every morning, after I wake up I go to the bathroom, weigh myself, write down my weight on a calendar we have in the bathroom cabinet, and then I take all the vitamins. I write a “v” after I’ve taken them so I know I took them that day.

Some people have different opinions on taking vitamins, which ones to take, and taking a multi-vitamin too even. My thoughts are it can’t hurt right? Taking vitamins to help my body? Why not?

What type of vitamins do you take?

Birthday project – Week 4/52.

This is my birthday project for the next 52 weeks. You can read more about it here!

Week four! Watch a documentary. I have been a little curious about this documentary with Britney Spears lately. I’ve been hearing little blurbs about it here and there, and how her father still has her tied into a conservatorship. Until I watched this, I never knew what a conservatorship even was! According to Google, a conservatorship is “a legal concept whereby a court appoints a person to manage an incapacitated person or minor’s financial or personal affairs. The conservator’s duties include overseeing finances, establishing and monitoring the physical care of the conservatee or ward, and managing living arrangements.”

It all seems crazy to me, is Britney really incapacitated to make adult decisions about her life? But then on the other hand the documentary was a little half ass for me. I felt like it really didn’t give the full vibe of what’s going on with Britney in her life. I actually enjoyed Tiger Woods documentary a hundreds times better than this one, it showed way more of his upbringing and how his childhood made him who he is today.

Despite the opinions of Britney, it was nice to just sit down and watch a documentary as part of my self care project this year. It’s always nice to learn something you didn’t know before. Next on my list is to watch the Tina documentary!

Birthday project – Week 3/52.

This is my birthday project for the next 52 weeks. You can read more about it here!

Week three! Color or doodle. I’ve always loved to color, draw, etc. Ever since I was little, I’ve always loved to color, and now that I have a little girl who loves it as much as I do we often do it together. Sometimes we’ll have a movie or show on, or sometimes we’ll just sit at the table and talk.

There are many benefits of coloring as an adult! Stress and anxiety levels are way lower, unplugging from technology promotes creation over consumption, coloring can be done by anyone not just artists or creative types, and it can be considered a hobby that can be taken with you wherever you go. For me, the best part about coloring is I feel like my brain just shuts everything off and I’m super calm and relaxed!

Birthday project – Week 2/52.

This is my birthday project for the next 52 weeks. You can read more about it here!

Week two! Watch a Disney movie. As previously mentioned in this post I secretly love Disney movies, still as a grown adult. After I had my kiddo, it was even more reason to watch them with her. So tonight, we watched Finding Nemo together. This whole self care project is all about doing things for yourself, no matter what it is, even if it sounds juvenile like watching kid movies. I want to be a kid at heart until I’m old and gray!

Birthday project – Week 1/52.

It’s my birthday today! And I’ve started the birthday project for the next 52 weeks. So here it goes…

As I mention last week in this post, I’m going to be doing 52 weeks of self care for a fun birthday project. And here is week one. Read magazines for an hour all by myself. I love to read magazines! Especially girly ones, health ones, DIY ones, and one of my favorites Better Home and Gardens! So today, for a full hour of uninterrupted time I got to read some magazines. And I enjoyed every 60 minutes of it.

Birthday project.

A week from today is my birthday! I just love birthdays! So I came up with a project for the next year in honor of my birthday. I’m calling it “52 weeks of self care!” So far, making the logo was the most fun part.

I am going to be tackling a years worth of self care things to do each week for an entire year. These things have to be personal self-care ideas I do for myself once a week. To me, self care is doing the things that make me feel more like myself. The past year has been the craziest year in our lives right? I’ve been doing little things here and there to make more time for myself, taking care of my mental and physical health has been at the top of my priority list.

Things that might be on the self care list are…
Do a face mask at night, buy fresh flowers, get a massage, are just a few examples of what I have in mind for the next 52 weeks. I am super excited about the endless possibilities of this new adventure. Soo ready to try some new things!

Check back next Wednesday for the first self care idea! Can’t wait for this to begin, as I am already doing small self-care things but ready to broaden the scope of this and make it a life long habit.
