Movie Night – True Spirit

It’s been a while since we were able to do a movie night, and this one wasn’t a full blown movie night with all the cool snacks and props. We made do! The movie was True Spirit and it was so good! It’s based on a true story, and was so inspiring. The movie can be watched on Netflix.

Hadley loves the anticipation of what the movie is going to be, and the snacks even if they’re not really themed to go with the movie. She hadn’t heard of this movie before, so that’s always a plus. Some weeks she likes to not know what the movie is, and other times she wants the movie to be one she’s seen, but still be surprised. We even narrow it down to cartoon, or non-cartoon!

And just like most of our movie nights, the majority of the snacks are what I already have on hand. For this movie, I literally pulled all of the snacks from the pantry. Fish and chips were goldfish and potato chips, pretzels, and some leftover candy from the Easter bunny. For the props, I used Huxley’s sailboat bath toys, and lanterns from a bridal shower.

This movie was really cool, and Hadley enjoyed it. To think of a sixteen-year-old sailing across the world on her own amazes me. You really can do what you put your mind to!

And if you missed any of my previous movie nights, you can find them below:
The Sandlot
Pinocchio
Minions – The Rise of Gru
Hocus Pocus 2
We Bought a Zoo
Coco
The Grinch
Rudy
Storks
